Please do not put your own words in my quote. In no way do I want to take credit for the garbage you have been slinging around these parts.
Great defender?, he got torched by Paul. Not a great defender. Need to watch your adjectives.
Yes. He's a great defender. The fact that you think 1 game or the fact that someone got torched by Chris F***ing Paul makes him a poor defender tells me all I need to know about the way you analyze players.
Temple is easily the best perimeter defender we have on this team. His DRAPM is 4th among PGs & 5th among SGs. His DRPM is 5th among PGs & 10th among SGs. And the Wizards gave up 5 fewer points per 100 possessions when he was on the court vs. when he was off. I'll repeat it again. He's a great defender.
Who said anything about swapping coaches? I was talking about Temple.
Were you now?...
Kings are in big trouble this season even more than last year. They didn't play defense last year, but now their offense looks lost too.
Please point out where you were referencing Temple in particular. It's quite obvious you were talking about the team/Kings. Backpedaling is common when you're losing an argument. Seems like it's no different here...
I know they didn't address their glaring needs - guard play and shooting in the draft - so yes they screwed up. So where are the new talent - Hmmm? Riding the pine. The 7th round equivalent talent is no-where to be found. Is it too little to ask to draft for need? They drafted 2 centers after drafting Cauley-Stein last year. And so what's to understand in talent if the talent does not play - it doesn't matter.
The way you "screw up" a draft is to knowingly choose a less valuable player to help fill a need. This has happened all too often in the NBA. The fact that you think our rookies were going to (or should) even play a big role is concerning. We're a team that is trying to win this year. Relying on rookies is not a recipe for success, but something is telling me you already know that factoid (or at least I pray you do).
When the Kings have not sniffed the playoffs for 10 years, there's nothin' to lose....sorry to break it to ya.
It's this simple minded, vacuum thinking that needs to be laid to bed around here. It's good to assess the entirety of the situation and understand the details when making these types of decisions. But of course, there will always be knee jerk fans that make outrageous claims such as this one.
And losing Cousins is not the end of the team....he has not been a leader, and has had 3 or 4 seasons to clean up his act on the court and behave professionally, not as a baby, but doesn't. I would welcome his departure, especially at his perceived value.
Actually, it is. Cousins is a superstar talent. Losing him means the Kings are back to trying to draft someone who is as good as Cousins. Despite all of his "antics," it is statistically proven that the team plays much, much better with him on the court. If only Cousins was a better leader from the bench, if only Cousins didn't act like such a baby on the bench. if only Cousins didn't pickup so many technicals on the bench....
If Cousins was such a cancer, why is his team so god awful when he isn't out there? You don't know what you have in front of your very own eyes.
Ticket sales, that's a function of price to product, and its been abysmal value for long time - I watch the Kings on television/computer. If you're paying to watch them live, you're throwing alot of money away imo.
And imagine how bad that product would be if Cousins was not on this team? From a business standpoint, it's suicide in the near term and potentially long term (as you may have fans quit altogether and choose another team to follow).
The fact that you watch the Kings helps their profits. It's interesting that you don't understand. There are such things as TV deals and the prices of those deals consider TV ratings. If people aren't watching the Kings, they aren't getting as much money. So although you personally might not be paying to watch them (which is debatable considering you do pay your cable/satellite bill), you do have a tie to how much they can make.
