Preseason Games on TV?

All that shows is that those two games are scheduled. If you notice, the Cleveland game shows "WATCH - FSOhio," whereas there is no "watch" indicator for the Kings game. If you go to the Monday, Oct. 6 listings, they only show "watch" information for one of the four games being played that day.

Cavs/Lebron game on with someglimpses of Kings game. Now 5:37pm Kings game on full time.

Just a reminder: There was a time when NO pre-season games were broadcast. ;)

Remember back when only a handful of games a year were shown on channel 31? Maybe 30 games or so? The rest were radio only. This wasn't even that long ago either. During the Mitch Richmond era.

Look, this is all I'm going to say on this: if Toronto broadcasts it, then the broadcast exists. And if the Kings don't want to get a little ad money from telecasting it themselves, then that's on them. People will be watching it one way or the other. That's just the modern reality.

Exactly. I don't understand WHY the Kings organization would NOT want televise the games locally and make the AD revenue on their product. I rather that way than the other way.

Only thing I can think of is they want people to want to see the Kings so bad that they end up buying tickets. Sort of like the reasoning behind the NFL Blackout rules. Other than that I have no idea either.

Well that logic falls apart if the the game is being played in Toronto. Look, in the end, the NBA is a business, and the owners want to make a buck. So if they can make money off a preseason game, their going to. However, they do have a contract with Comcast, and usually the scheduling is worked out in advance. There could be some scheduling conflicts that we don't know about, and could include with the broadcasters. It's easy for us to say they ought to broadcast the game (and I wish they would), but it's quite an operation, especially when they want to have a pre-game and post-game show. Not saying it couldn't be done, but it could require a lot of work that in the end, the powers that be don't think is worth it.

It's a lot easier to throw together a broadcast when it's at your own arena, than it is to haul everyone to another city.

10 PM for you guys, 2 PM for me! Finally, a game on in the middle of my workday rather than in the morning.

You work on weekends? I thought you said you were a teacher?

And, FYI, it's not 10pm for all "us guys," but it'll be nice for you left-coasters to know what I have to deal with 55 or so times a year. :p
