Preseason Games on TV?

Nfl network replays all preseason games nba needs to step it's game up.

NFL Network is 100% better than NBA TV...NFL Network replays the best games from the Sunday's games in 30 minute segments just in case for those who missed some of the games or it wasn't televised locally. I love it, it's a new addition they incorporated this season. NBA TV is rather dull in my opinion.

Doesn't the NBA play something like five times as many games as many games as the NFL? It wouldn't seem as though it would be at all viable to try and emulate their business model. Also, the number of possessions in a basketball game doesn't make it as amenable to paring down to thirty-minute segments as a football game does.

Just a reminder: There was a time when NO pre-season games were broadcast.

That's true but, just to play devil's Advocate, there was also a time when there wasn't a twenty-four hour news cycle. At some point, you start to get diminishing returns on being "happy" about how much better it is now than it "used to be." We might be better off, but since we're not ever going back to how it used to be, that's kind of a non-starter. ARCO used to sell out for losing teams, too, and that's not ever happening again.

We reach a point in the evolution where meaningful discussion starts with comparison with what we have, and how much better it could be; the notion of "just be grateful that it's not as bad as it was X years ago" loses meaning the further removed we get from X.

Football replays the games in an hour nba does the same thing but only in the summer. I'm saying instead of replaying game time replay games from last night from 3am-12pm or have a am show in the morning.

Not when you reach my age. All too often, I find myself sounding like my grandmother - wondering why people are always demanding more instead of enjoying what they have.

There are way too many games to replay, but what they should at least strive for is replaying the prime time games just in case people don't have the chance to see them. League Pass replays all the games that are scheduled besides the ones on NBA TV/ESPN/ABC/TNT but for those who don't have the League Pass, it would be beneficial also for international viewers.

Yes Sundays game in vs Toronto it is 4pm Pacific in Sacto and 7 pm Toronto time zone
So would be 4pm in Vancouver

But still do not think there is any TV coverage on Sunday's Game

Just the Tues 7 pm game in Sac is on CSN

I guess, but most of us that have a common language use agreed upon terms, so that when we're talking, other people know what we're talking about. I'd be surprised if anybody besides you specifically refers to National TV games in the NBA as "prime time" games. That's a common enough term among NFL fans, because of the nature of the NFL, and how those games are broadcast, but it doesn't really translate to the NBA.

It's tough to argue with that but, as I've been forced to find out the hard way, as it pertains to other media I'm interested in, copyright holders also have the right to not make money off their intellectual property, for any reason or none at all.

Sunday game is on NBA TV! Just verified on NBA.com

NBA TV is just one channel, and if so, how can they show the Cleveland game at three, and the Kings game at four. They would overlap, or be in conflict with one another. Plus, I see no mention of it on my listings. The only game listed is the Cleveland game, which repeats several times that day.

That was the NBA TV web site schedule page for sunday. Keep in mind however I am in SoCal/LA/SanDiego market so might be different here than in Sactown.

I'm hoping that a miracle happens as to the Kings getting TV coverage this Sunday. Although it is confirmed that the Kings will have 4 games on TV. Hopefully Kings vs Lakers will be broadcasted on NBATV. Kings vs Nets was on the guide this morning for NBATV so that is confirmed.

There will apparently be an NBATV camera in the arena (Vancouver remember) -- checking NBATV Canada and it turns out even they are showing the Cleveland game, because obviously the only team anybody wants to see is Lebron's latest. But after midnight they start repeatedly showing the Raps/Kings in something they call "1 game/1 hour" format. Which I can only presume is them cutting out large chunks of it and just fitting whatever they can into an hour slot (which they then ironically go ahead and repeat 4 times -- so why not just reshow the whole thing and just repeat it once?)

Anyway, and that's Canada itself. So best hope stateside might be if they have that feed on NBATYV after midnight as well.

This what I got from Comcast SportsNet after writing to them about broadcasting more Kings preseason games.

"Thanks for your note. We very much appreciate your Kings loyalty and are excited about the privilege of serving you this season.

While we share your anticipation of the new season, long experience has taught us that viewership for preseason games is much lighter than for regular season games. While we're happy to televise one in order to give fans a look at their new team, we otherwise prefer to focus our preparation and resources on the games that count.

Yeah I also emailed the Kings about it too because I heard from someone here that the Kings are in charge of all game broadcasts.

Is that online? And, if so, is it geo-blocked?

It's geo-blocked. If you go on TSN you can live stream the channel, but the channel requires a Canada TV satellite/cable company account.
