I am going with a 9-0 vote as political grandstanding is great, but standing in the way of an onslaught like the arena deal just to gain favor from the minority voter is political suicide.

My guess is that Sheedy "might" jump into the mayor's race if she gets enough support from the CAVE group. She doesn't have the funds to go up against KJ and won't spend anything if she thinks she has little chance. So this is her way of gambling on maybe there being some public outrage over the arena. Thus she would have a free ride on the issue in race. So she has other motivations about this. It's a gamble on her part, but costs her nothing.

Run for Mayor? I understand KJ has a council candidate all lined up to defeat Sheedy next time her term is up... her political future is bleak at best.

Ack! Sandy Sheedy running for mayor? I would hate to have to move out of Sac before the ESC is even built!

What about little 'ol me? I was first one to correctly predict 7-2 in second post of this thread - only 30 mins after OP. Just didn't vote in poll - boo hoo! But yeah Sacramento!
