That's probably the worst injury news the Kings have got all year, Gordon has chucked the Pelicans out of the game in literally every lose, I would not be surprised if they play better without him.

You may forget who replaces him:

I would be extremely happy with 2-2. Absolutely overjoyed with anything better.

1-3 would be fine considering the opponents and 0-4 would be eww

As long as the Spurs don't have Splitter we can beat them imo, while he can't stop Cousins when he's in the game and Duncan helps that's just near impossible for any big man to try finish over two long 7-footers. For the Spurs to beat us easily they need Splitter without him they are in a bit of trouble imo.
I hope you're right, because if we win at San Antonio I really think we're going home with 4-0 record. I really feel trouble brewing on this game against the Spurs. Big revenge and at their home court are what concerns me. Yikes.

Let's start with NO. Ryan Anderson and NO. Are we going to guard him this time? If not, we're not winning. May we please first guard him with Gay, and if that doesn't work, Casspi, and if that doesn't work, D-Will? Pretty please. May we please not guard him with Landry or Thompson or or some other power forward? Heck, I'm desperate - I'd take Stauskas guarding him every minute over Landry or Thompson or some other power forward. At least then you'd (hopefully) stop his 3s and have him overpower Stauskas for 2s. Give him 2s; take away 3s. There's a plan.

And then there's Tyreke. Rudy Gay ain't going to work on him. That is unless his achilles is 100%, or maybe it's not going to work even if his achilles is 100%. Tyreke had a field day when NO set a pick for him and poor Rudy was stuck on it like glue. I still want McCallum on Tyreke. Yes, he's not as big and strong and he's a few inches shorter, but I'd still rather have a quicker guy like McCallum guarding him than Rudy, who in the last contest was left out to dry. McCallum is a good defender, especially on guys who are as quick as he is or slower. Please, may we try McCallum?
I like the idea of putting Casspi or DWill on a very important mission of preventing Ryan Anderson making those 3s. A very simple assignment. Just have both glued to Anderson to prevent him from making those killer 3s.

Another good idea is putting a quicker player like McCallum on Evans, but I also won't hesitate putting McLemore on Evans. McLemore just have to stay in front all the time and shouldn't fall into that cross-over dribble of Evans.

Anthony Davis? I think JT will be able to take care of him this time around.

This should be an easy win for the Kings with Cousins, Gay, and Collison leading the offense.

Rivers actually looks like a basketball player this year though, so that might actually be an upgrade for them. He's been there "Ben McLemore" where the game is starting to slow down and his talent is allowed to show through.

It's amazing how both Dwight's issues and Blake's night club assault have gotten absolutely no attention. If Cuz had done either, it'd probably be plastered all over ESPN and NBA.com

If Cuz had done either, he would have already been banned for life and possibly deported.

If people forgot, it was Eric Gordon who was abusing our guards 1 vs 1 and passing

May have been an exception, but Eric Gordon went to work against our guards and was the most efficient guard for the Pelicans last time we played. I would rather face Rivers any day over Gordon.

McLemore could also work on Evans. But Evans would test his defensive fundamentals when he tries to cross him over.

Houston game is very winnable, no Dwight, Jones or Beverly. They literally have no one that can bother Cousins, esentially its James Harden and a bunch of spot shooters. They also have one of the most deceptive records in the league, their wins are against Lakers, Utah, Boston, Philly, Miami, San Antonio(Pop threw the game), Minni, Philly, OKC, Mavs, Knicks. Their only good wins are @Miami and Dallas and even then Miami is only moderately impressive.

Agreed we just need to keep Harden out of the lane and he will start chucking.

Also on a side note, it would be awesome to have game threads up early so we can discuss some Kings basketball against our next victim. Even a place holder game thread would do.

I'm working on it, I'm working on it. It's been a busy day at work

And now, thirteen people are wrong. 3-1 is still in play, but it's definitely looking like the smart money was on 2-2.

Boogie is getting mentally fatigued to carry the team on both ends. Rockets went at him like no other team before this season attacking him physically and verbally, while triple-teaming him with the other 2 players providing soft quintuple-team a lot of times. That sequence in the 4th was just frustration breakdown. He needs that comforting home sequence like no other player on this team. Rest and compete with patience in San Antonio. And no injury scares!

He needs Gay and Collison back. Gay can help with the scoring load and makes it harder on the defense to throw 3 bodies at Cuz at all times. Collison is HUGE for this team as far as game management goes, tonights game illustrated that, PG play was PUTRID.

After tonight's games Kings' opponents' winning% is up to .606 (6-9 H/A split). Yes, opportunity missed, but shorthanded, on a second night of a b2b in the middle of a road trip against 11-3 team, no matter how that team got their wins...

What I like about this team is that we are competing every night against the best teams with clear holes that can be addressed rather easily. That is backup PG play, a backup Center or better starting PF(slides JT to backup C). Ben has shown me enough that he is on his way to being a very competent starting SG with his play on both ends, he still has a lot of work to do but he has turned the first corner. So the way I see it this is our roster and how we build on it going forward.
(core)
Cousins
Gay
Collison
Ben
Nik
Landry(tradeable for the right piece, but he fits our style and only looks bad at times because he's playing Center )
JT(probably stuck with him, but he does play great man defense, nice to have if and when we make the playoffs and games slow down)
Omri
Ray Mac

(?)
Moreland
Sessions(should be traded, isn't fitting with the rest of the team, should have some value based on history)

(not part of core/future)
Reggie
Hollins
D-Will
