How does Dallas justify trading two starters and one bing there best perimeter defender for Derozan. wouldn’t Chicago have traded him if they could get half that value for him

They already have Lively at center and AD can play there as well so I’m not sure they want to have a 14 million dollar backup center that probably won’t play too much. Flagg is ready to play now and is better than PJ so that might make him expendable. They could bring Klay off the bench and they have Martin and Marshall for wing depth. Essentially they are trading two guys who might combine for 25 minutes for a dude that can score 22 a game and hit clutch shots. They don’t have to give up any draft capital to do it.

Their philosophy is length and defense DD doesn’t fit that and I don’t get why they’d bring him he’d get in the way of AD/Flagg. Washington is on a hood contract too they probably should hold on to him

Thinking about the draft. What about trading our ‘27 first round pick (from the Spurs) for Okc’s 15 and 24 this year? The Thunder don’t have roster space or developmental time for more draft picks. They push two picks they don’t need out a bit further and get a roll of the dice on an unprotected pick (with injuries you just never know) Kings get the ball rolling on a youth movement in case the wheels fall off with 3 picks in this draft.

Does anyone know which picks we traded to the Wizards for Jonas? Ham said we traded the Charlotte picks, one to Memphis and one to the Wizards but he was mistaken because the Charlotte pick was a protected first that hadn’t conveyed yet. I checked fanspo and it showed our own ‘28 second rounder outgoing to Memphis and then one second rounder of our own to the Wiz but it doesn’t show another one.

Zach LaVine

I saw Matt Georges trading Ideas for DeRozan and while hearing the one where DeRozan goes to the Clippers, I thought about the Clippers being one of the only teams that might be interested in LaVine.

LaVine already showed that he can score highly efficient, and i think the Clippers would be an environment where he could to that again+they have an owner ready to spend money as long as Kawhi is there.

They would have to give us more Salary back then just Norm for this to work out, but wouldn't both teams benefit from this?

Then trade DeRozan to the Lakers for DFS and Monk to the Mavs, who are looking for a ball handler, for Lively+filler, and we go ourselves a team that can suck for a while and develop in the meantime

Maybe find a spot for sabonis for young assets, too.

Cleveland instantly gets worse on defense with that move

I'm sure the idea would probably be balancing with a little more physicality and skill. The Cavs defense got smoked in the playoffs and mostly by two physical skilled bigs. Not that Domas has guarantees to really help them come playoff time but on the surface the Cavs could use a little more physical play at the rim and a little more skill in the frontcourt. Mobley and Domas looks about as balanced as a team can get on paper. Defenses anchored in the front court almost entirely might not be the way. Yeah, if it's Pacers/Knicks and Nuggets/Wolves, defense is all about physical G and F play and something at one of the frontcourt spots that can feast offensively.
