Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

If the Nuggets have any sense they will move Johnson next year for nothing just to resign Watson, I'd even move Gordon or Braun imo Watson moving forward is the 3rd piece.

It’s not a good time to have a favorite player on the Kings unless it’s a guy with a terrible contract because every other player over 25 is getting traded or being let go.

ATL GM was able to make a deal before trade deadline. Not sure what Perry is waiting for unless he’s asking for too much in regards to the vets. The Lavine value was kind of set with the Trae trade…..an expiring and a former first who hasn’t panned out whatsoever.

I give Lavine away for any expiring

He has to be paid though. This is the same issue with Kuminga or a bunch of the other names out there.

The way I look at it is you need to get young talent in, regardless of how you do it. Coupled with I don’t trust the FO to get the draft, or the process in general right. It’s a woefully inept franchise. So if you can do it via trade and FA coupled with draft I’d be all for it.

All depends on the cost to acquire them. You have to pay somebody to get to the salary floor. If it's future FRP? No. If it's pretty much anything less than that? Yeah, I'm in on a Watson/Kuminga, etc.

Kuminga can't be traded till Jan 15th

Yeah, but talent can become a hindrance if it's not able to be used properly. The Kings current situation is a bright and shining example of that. Having no years to one year tops to see what things look like gives almost no cushion, you either pay or let talent walk. Once the cap starts hardening and bigger contracts fill it up it's going to be lateral moves from then on which might work, but we know rarely does.

Kuminga is not the only player out there.

He's not, but the pace of any given trade deadline is usually set like a series of dominoes. There's often a waiting game around the likeliest trade candidates. Trae Young was the first this off-season. We'll see if Kuminga is among the next once January 15th rolls around. After those initial players everybody expected to be on the move are (or aren't) dealt, there's usually a bit more certainty about the trade landscape, and further opportunities open up.

We're all aware of that. If the Kings have determined that's the deal they want, then Jan 15th is what would hold up their first domino.

Beyond that it takes two to tango and most trades happen the last day or so before the deadline.
Five more days. They need to keep Monk on the bench the next three games.

Ok I came up with a wild one. Peyton Watson might be breaking out and Denver is going to lose him in the off season or they are going to be deep in the second apron. Cam has been a disappointment this year and has been injured. Denver gets someone that can help for the playoff run and they get off Zeke’s contract and can cut Deebo after the season to free up the apron room to re-sign Watson. Kings get a young player to try developing and they can re-route Cam Johnson for expiring and some picks (one first or a bunch of seconds)

No reason for denver to make a trade go for the championship this season trade Cam in June

If they trade Cam in June I don’t think they can re-sign Watson unless they can find a team that can absorb his contract without sending much salary back. If Watson gets around 30 mil a year they are going to need to come off at least that much to stay under the second apron. I don’t think Denver needs Cam to make it to the finals but they are going to regret keeping him if it costs them Watson.
