Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

I’m guessing they want Saric’s expiring in exchange for one of their deals that goes past this year on a guy who they’re barely playing. In other words, Saric for Yabu.

I mean, youre not paying attention if you think I want Keon traded.

Im more reading the tea leaves that we dont value him at all as an org. So at this point, if the extension is off the table, go get me a good asset in return, which I think McCain is.

Keon is better right now, sure, but he's cost controlled and I think he's got real upside as a creator
I know his minutes situation is frustrating but we had made Keon untouchable in the Kuminga saga. I don't think its a question of him being valued, but I do think there may be some question about whether we can extend him now, which is why we're even having this conversation.

And we all know "woulda, coulda" on the RFA situation but if there was pressure to evaluate whether this team needed to be torn down by bringing in a "real PG" our hands were forced a bit. Keon at this price gives us a lot of flexibility we wouldn't have no matter what the future plan is for him. That's business and its painful as fans.

Seems ideal from a flexibility standpoint, IF we don't need to clear a roster spot or include Saric as matching money in a larger deal.

Of course we still have Doug who can also do that. Some of the deals for Domas or Zach seem to have us taking in 3 players plus draft compensation which means waiving people and we're also awfully close to being luxury tax payers where waiving players is dead money and not ideal since you can't clear it with another trade.

Because Keon Ellis is probably better?

Also... I consider Devin Carter and Nique Clifford both primary SGs, hence the log jam. McCain and Ellis play the same position but McCain is less effective as a defender and so far this season has not re-discovered his outside jumper. We'd be buying into the idea that we can fix him or that he's not fully healthy yet. I get it if our front office is dead set on moving Ellis regardless, but this just speaks even further to how undervalued Ellis has been by our front office, coaching staff, and fans.
Agree, this downgrade makes no sense. The entire roster is on sale, and all the cards will be shuffled. I bet, in the new lineup, Keon will be one of the key pieces, no wonder why Keon attracts so many suitors.

Ya I’d prefer to do that in the off-season but how much are we gonna tank when Sabonis comes back anyways. I don’t see how we could get garland without sending Sabonis to a third team Cleveland would not want Lavine or anyone else unless we’re sending them Keegan

Sac: Garland, Vuc, Jalen Smith (buyout Vuc)

Cleveland: Dosunmu, Schroeder, Ellis, 2026 and 2027 firsts from Chicago and 2027 spurs

Chicago: Sabonis and Precious

Cavs are a second apron team so they can’t aggregate salaries unless the trade gets them under. If I had to guess they will be patient and play out the year before making drastic moves.

I used Spotrac for that trade and they usually account for second apron rules also the cavs could make a move considering the way the season is going.

Garland
Nique
Keegan
AJ/Boozer/Caleb
Maxime

I'm with it, that's a very very fun team (Assuming Domas is the piece going out)

We’d have to keep the tank going following the trade but I love that team sprinkle in Kuminga as a sixth man

I mean fine but at least let us keep our pick and tank out the year so we can at least pair him with AJ or Caleb or Cam or something.

This has to be old news. Nope, the Kings have to do this the right way. Taking on big money to skip steps, just no. Just arranging deck chairs with little hope to build a team because those finances are still what they are.

I agree. But If Cleveland is desperate enough to shake things up with a LaVine for Garland, we have to consider that. Maybe even Schroder/Demar for Garland needs to be considered. Definitely no picks.

I agree. You don’t want to make a deal that gets the Kings out of the top 3 or 4. Would be such a bad idea. They are in fairly good position to get a potential star or high level player in the draft. Don’t eff that up

Why would Cleveland trade garland for no value Derozan and a journeyman pg
Well, I know they wouldn't do the LaVine deal, but I'd argue that trading for Schroder/Demar would be a good idea.

In a year the East is weak as can be, they are barely hanging onto .500
Garland is struggling badly this year and due big money for 3 more years.
Garland/Mitchell has yet to gel the way they thought it would.

At their best, they were Jerome and Mitchell running the back court. Schroder presents a good fit and a guy who can play defense while allowing Dmitch to run the offense, Demar is a solid 6th man scorer who even at this stage of his career is a better scorer than Garland.

Its been 4 years with this core. They've won 2 playoff series, and weren't really competitive when matched up against Boston/Indiana in the 2nd round. I think this team is going to shake something up, will it be Garland or Allen? All the smoke says Garland, we will see.
