Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Well we saw the Monk-LaVine-Derozan combo be a disaster. I don't think swapping Schroder for Monk changes that at all. I'm guessing Nique doesn't have minutes day 1. Monk-Carter-Keon + the 3 starters is already tough to find minutes for.

This is genuinely far worse than what we ended last year with. We are more undersized. We ended the year with 5 playable front court guys, I'm counting 2 today. I'd have to guess we are at minimum going to grab Precious or bring Lyles back. Which then cuts into Keon/Carters minutes even more. The current roster is an absolute disaster.

I really would explore a buyout with Demar if we can't trade him. Keeping him makes LaVine worse, and hurts any development we have for our guys. We've complained about Keegan playing the 4, lets wait until Keon exclusively plays at the 3.

It truly is an awful roster and probably the least excited I've been for a Kings season since 2008. I have no idea how anyone that claims to know basketball even comes up with a roster like we have. But if something doesn't happen this summer our best bet is to play the guys we have around the minutes you suggest and just pray they don't kill their value before the trade deadline. I still think DD and Monk have value in this league somewhere.

It truly is an awful roster and probably the least excited I've been for a Kings season since 2008. I have no idea how anyone that claims to know basketball even comes up with a roster like we have. But if something doesn't happen this summer our best bet is to play the guys we have around the minutes you suggest and just pray they don't kill their value before the trade deadline. Our best bet for this coming season is to emulate the 21/22 Bulls. Everyone jokes “Bulls West” but that team went 46-36 with Deebo and Lavine as their two best players. They were on pace for over 50 wins before Ball went down with an injury that derailed their season. The most optimistic outlook would be to hope that Schroder can serve as a great connector piece and that this team can not start out the season by shooting league worst percentages like last year.

On paper this team is probably 11-15th out West with the only clear inferior team being the Jazz. Things hardly work out like they do on paper due to injuries, age or underperformance so who knows.

Demar can be bought out for 10 mil next year if we don’t want him. I’d rather hold on to him for the start of the year and see if a team needs a scorer on a good deal at the deadline.

I feel like Kings fans who just shout doomer haven't really paid attention to the market this year. We just saw Powell get given away. He was substantially better than Demar/Monk. Sexton who was on a more favorable contract had a 2nd attached to turn him into Nurkic. Poole/CJ were downright bad value swapped for eachother. Simons was given away for an aging overpaid vet on a 3 year deal that definitely won't age well.

The market has spoken. The league has spoken. They want two way wings who can shoot 3s, provide length, and play defense. That's Keon/Keegan and hopefully Nique/Carter.

Nobody is saying everyone has to go. In fact I wish we could keep Monk. In a world where LaVine/DeRozan didn't exist he would make a lot of sense to keep around.

Any team that wants to keep DeRozan next year would owe him the full amount of his contract. Roughly 25.8 million. So nothing cheap about that. Or they can pay him 10 million to go home

Are you talking to me? Where have I once said Dennis fixes anything? I've argued if we were going to do nothing, we ACTUALLY should have done nothing to clear playing time for our young guys. Now. We've just gotten worse from the end of last year while signing an okay PG to play in front of 2 of our biggest upside players

And the next bit of business is to be EXTREMELY careful about how they value Keon. This is a huge year for him. He is the exact archetype that has lost value when signed to a big money deal. Monte would have quick extended him to 20 a year, Perry at least played that one smart.

Nope. You're just wrong on your player eval of Keon. Go look at any impact stat of him the last 2 years. He's a high impact starter, on both ends and we had the ability to keep him here for 4 years and threw that away for apparently Dennis Schroeder. Just incredibly stupid asset and team management.

We'll see. We've talked about value before with previous players and watched it whither and die on the vine. Role players aren't the first bit of business, they're the last. If they become your first then they can quickly become anchors. Keon hopefully at some point proves himself to be more than that and if he does, it's an easy call. I saw what happened when the Bulls maxed out Big Ben. It changed my view on a lot of things. That was an interesting situation that showed the difference between value to you vs. value to the league. The sucky thing is Keon needs minutes to for sure show all of those other things and the actual impact. Post All star as his minutes really solidified some of his ratings started to go back to baseline. Either way it gives the Kings more time to assess value to them vs. league wide value.

Interesting, I never check out Warrior forums but from the interviews I have watched on Kuminga I haven’t been impressed. It might be English not being his first language or the cultural differences, not sure.
It’s clear we need another wing, and the Kings don’t seem willing to break it down, or can’t since not a lot of demand for our vets, but I would be fine filling that forward need in next years draft.

He might get 20 mpg I think that’s bad enough blood to not sign it and test free agency

We weren’t even close to the best team on paper the team on paper got laughed at by every other fan base and media members. We were gaslight by being fans and our media because derozan walked out to not like us

I'm all for acquiring players at or below Keegan's age. If any of them prove themselves like Keon has, they should be locked in as part of the future. Kuminga would be a fantastic prospect. He plays bigger than he is and stronger than he looks. I'm not concerned with winning right now. I want to see who these players are years down the line. That's just where we're at I feel.

Yeah, I think guys are going to avoid FA if they can, until this CBA is over. This RFA class being a perfect example with all the guys who didn't get an extension early. Feels like we're just heading for every team to be broke pretty much every off-season at this point. We saw it this year where there were quite a few guys who took a paycut, just so they could secure some long-term security

Darius Bazley would have to be worth a look at as a back up PF he's got the skills and size and can block shots on a minimum deal and still relatively young.
