Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Yea my biggest problem with this is again more nonsense from the front office and their mouth pieces. "we didn't want to pay Keon now because we wanted to keep flexibility open". That flexibility is swapping Monk for Schroder and then signing Westbrook? Who is offering Westbrook more than a minimum at this point?

Then they said "kings fans want a move, but sometimes their isn't a move to be made, you shouldn't sell guys just to sell them". So what do we call trading Monk into cap space? A guy who is still in his mid 20s, wanted to be in Sac, signed with us, gave us huge moments, a true fan favorite. I absolutely understand Monk doesn't fit with Lavine/Demar, but we've made it clear those dudes aren't in the long term plans.

We do realize that we can keep Monk, sign Schroder, and just be bad while we wait for the deadline to move off Demar? Or hell even move Monk. Thats exactly the kind of player teams who deal with injuries are going to want from us. The timing of this team is always bad.

Yeah. Exactly.

Tyus went for 7M.
I'd have that over paying DOUBLE to Dennis and losing Monk.
signing Tyus Jones wasn’t an option. You’re living in a fantasy world.
Jerome went for 3/28
Tre Jones went for 3/24

CP3 you could probably get for 1/10. Same with Russ. WITHOUT giving up Monk
Maybe, if they wanted to come here. You can’t just decide a player signs because you want them to. If you want to improve, you have to sacrifice one (or more) of the half dozen shooting guards already on the roster. You sign one of the players mentioned, that’s it. That’s your free agency.

A trade allows you to free up the SG log jam (potentially more minutes for Keon and Devin) and use the MLE to bring in another needed role player.

Bringing in Dennis does not get Keon/Carter on the floor, it's just replacing Monk in the rotation. And he's... worse at basketball than Monk.

And by all accounts, it sounds like Westbrook is our other major target. Which buries Keon and Carter even further.

At least the FO seemingly has a plan. It's bad, but there's at least a thought of "Dennis makes a better team than Monk". Rather than just adding players to add players. That's the only positive I can think of with this move is there's some semblance of a team build here

Doubtful but I would love that

If we can do that, we would have Carter, Ellis, Clifford, Holland, Raynaud as the future to mold. DET already hit on Thompson and are in win now mode so they may be more inclined to part with Holland who isn't ready to consistently produce.

Are the kings all in on IJ or do they have a 4 in mind?
So assuming no other trades. I'd bet that Davis is not on the roster.
Sabonis/Jones/Maxime
Keegan/Saric
Demar/Nique
LaVine/Keon/Carter
Schroder/Monk

Kings typically go into season with 14 guys. Which means room for 2 more additions.
Looking at the league, I could see Boucher, Precious Achiuwa coming in as the backup 4 spot.

Boston just got Minot he would have been my target as a young guy who hasn't had an opportunity. Another guy maybe Jabari Walker, Kai Jones. IMO sign a young guy who may have some potential.

I was trying to think of which teams would actually have the smallest chance of being open to taking on LaVine. These are the trade frameworks I came up with for the fun of it...

Jaylen Brown for Zach LaVine
Why for BOS?
Perhaps Boston is not done shedding salary and would be interesting in moving off of Brown's massive deal while picking up extra assets. White & LaVine seem like a solid, complementary backcourt pairing in the meantime
Why for SAC? Upgrade LaVine to a younger, better star who can play SF (thus freeing up our glut at SG)

Zion Williamson for Zach LaVine
Why for NOP?
Give up on Zion and bring in a "star" SG. Bit of an awkward fit next to Poole, but could work well with a healthy Dejounte Murray or Fears.
Why for SAC? Take the swing on the higher upside player while also freeing up our glut at SG

Jerami Grant & Matisse Thybulle for Zach LaVine
Why for POR?
Get the best player to help with their win now shift. They still have Camara & Avdija to start at SF & PF while still having some great rim protection at C to cleanup messes (Clingan & R. Williams)
Why for SAC? Free up their glut at SG and bring in a wing & forward who can help balance the roster out. Grant having 3 years left is hard to swallow though when looking at how our contracts are setup across our team.

Michael Porter for Zach LaVine
Why for BKN?
Do it for the additional assets as LaVine makes more than Porter (despite them both having 2 years left on their deal)
Why for SAC? Free up their glut at SG and bring in a big forward that can help balance the roster. His contract only has 2 years left on it as well (same as LaVine)

Lauri Markkanen for Zach LaVine
Why for UTA?
Get some assets for Markkanen as they continue to rebuild
Why for SAC? Upgrade LaVine to a younger, better star who can play PF (thus freeing up our glut at SG)

John Collins & Jusuf Nurkic for Zach LaVine
Why for UTA?
Get the best player in the deal and perhaps look to flip him later (or use him & Markkanen to try and claw their way in the west)
Why for SAC? Free up their glut at SG and bring in a forward and backup C who can help balance the roster out. They both are expiring contracts as well.

Again, these are just the trade frameworks. Obviously assets would need to be attached to some of these trades to balance them out.

I really don’t see any of those as possible outside of Portland and Utah and I’m not sure why we would really do either. I could maaaaybe be talked into the John Collins idea but that’s it.

MPJ has been dealt to the nets today.
No chance for jaylen, no realistic chance for Zion.
The Jazz just dumped two no defense guards, they aren't going to take on LaVine.
The only realistic one is the portland one imo. I dont think the blazers take on a ball dominant guard, as they freed up touches for their young talents by trading simons, though.

I think I might be able to figure out which one would be fully, and undeniably, supported by @Joshyjosh31...:p:p:p
But, yeah, I'll pass on all of them.
