Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

If I thought DeRozan would agree to come off the bench, or the Kings were willing to force him..I wouldn’t want to trade him at all. He would be an absolute beast off the bench.

I also think Aldama would be a great pick up and a good fit with Domas.

If Christie could somehow convince DeRozan to come off the bench and we can slide Lavine to small forward (where he often played for the Bulls), the Kings could start a more balanced line up, even if we don't make any big moves.

PF: Keegan / Issac Jones / Raynaud
SF: Lavine / DeRozan / LaRavia (re-signed)
C: Sabonis / JVal
SG: Keon / Clifford / TD
PG: Monk / Devin Carter

I wonder what it must be like, seeing your name bandied about in trade scenario after trade scenario? I suppose if you had a nice cabin in the Sierra Nevada without internet, cable, or cell service, it would be more bearable.

I just read on HoopsHype that Zach Lowe thinks the Kings are, or would be, interested in Jaylen Brown of the Celtics. It would have to be a massive trade package, though, and he doubts the Celtics would take it. Brown's base salary is over $54 million next season, their second-most expensive player. On the other hand, the Celtics have already agreed to trade Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. At the same time, Jayson Tatum is likely to miss the entire season.

Meanwhile, Davion Mitchell signed a two-year, $24 million guaranteed contract with the Miami Heat.

The issue here is that Matt George is kinda not plugged in
Yea I just don't buy that. There are certainly some players that have little to no value, and I just don't see Monk being one of them. Inefficient, sure - but his passing, ball handling and scoring ability is enough for any team to wanna give him a shot and his contract is nowhere near egregious territory IMO.

If he's such a good catch, why is he always on the move? Not a great three point shot or on catch and shoot, and on the smaller side. I'd rather root for Monk if landing Schroeder means that Monk is on the way out.
Hmm I just liked this post and the one you quoted because I genuinely see both sides here and I'm torn lol

Kinda hard to ask a lot when you didn’t have faith in him enough to ever play any kind of role and only spot starts and you don’t want to resign him. Cant ask for much given those credentials GS is putting out there. I would say monk is more valuable to the kings than kuminga was to the warriors. Murray or Keon are a no go for me
Yea if we were willing to give them Keegan, that would have been done already. HELL NO

That team can’t defend. But what if you sign Ben Simmons. He solves a lot of problems for us on offense and defense.

Offense. Defense

PG Simmons PF
SG Keon PG
SF Lavine SG
PF. Keegan SF
C Sabonis C

Detroit may be back in the Shroeder sweepstakes as they pause contract discussions with Malik Beasley over a recent federal investigation into gambling accusations. Don’t see that going away soon enough to make a decision on 3 years guaranteed

Im also still a Ben Simmons truther and would love the Kings to pick him up

Yeah, the problem with Simmons is that he is always out for either injury or mental issues. We need a PG that will be available 70+ games a year and Simmons can only be relied on for 40 or so games a year. As a bench player maybe, as your starter you count on, no.

Simmons couldn’t get playing time and you want him to start here that’s a hard pass

This may save the Kings from themselves and overpaying for Schroeder, if Detroit turns their money toward keeping Schroeder, he's likely staying with Detroit.

I would rather the Kings use the MLE money on a PG that still has some upside like Ty Jerome than overpaying for an older vet that doesn't push us over the playoff line.

Except for clips, I don’t think iv’e ever seen Ty Jerome play.
Regardless, from what im hearing here I too would much prefer going in that direction. Twenty seven is not ancient, it’s as Perry says more of a complete resume.
