Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Does Perry dislike monk and Carter that much that we’re looking at Shreuder and a rookie
It’s moreso about balancing the roster and fitting into the defensive identity Perry and Doug want to build. Monk is awesome but he’s not a defender and is an undersized SG, and we already have LaVine and Keon there. Schroder is a scrappy defender at a position of need that is more of a Perry and Christie guy. Carter is a guy, however, that I would be mad about if we trade ld away, unless it’s for an All-Star.

On 1140 there's a lot of negativity on DDR's trade value and a lot of talk about stuff being done in summer of 2026. In other words, run it back.....

Personally, I see no reason why Miami should be interested in DDR. If the logic is that Miami failed in getting Durant so of course they should be interested in DDR, I'm not getting the logic. Durant is a 3-point artist, while DDR is a relic of another era. Miami likes defense; DDR has got no defense. If Perry gets much for DDR from any team he'll earn some points from me.
So because DDR scores from the midrange, he’s a “relic” so do the points not count or something? There’s value in a guy who can get buckets and get to the line. No one’s saying he doesn’t have flaws, but he’s still elite at getting buckets and getting to the line.

Yeah, he's a relic, a dinosaur, and soon to be extinct. If the rules didn't change, it would be a different story, but alas the game has left him behind and hence his value has been greatly diminished and the Kings are left holding the bag.

So Jrue Holiday is very unhappy with his trade to Portland

So DEMAR and Carter works money wise

Portland gets more scoring with DDR and a backup for Scoot

Kings get an awesome Pg in Jrue?

On the Kings Beat Podcast tonight, Ham asked how many of the current guaranteed rostered players will still be on the team on July 6th. Sean Cunningham said 6 and Ham said 5.

Ya but all the talk of pg and targeting backup pg it looks like we’re trying to replace both guys. If we’re keeping Sabonis we don’t need a traditional pg I don’t get why we can’t let Carter start this coming year see how he does playing point.

I think we would have to add something to match value, probably something like Carter or the 2027 Spurs pick. But I like it a lot.
So add a heavily protected future kings pick then send Carter to Jazz for their no 21 pick

Boom we have no 9 and no 21 lol

Then get pg with 9(Jakucionas?) get Schroeder in FA for a year while rookie pg develops use pick 21 for Tall PF maybe Danny Wolf drops to 21 and pick 42 for the C phenom get Big Scott!

Yeah that’s the ticket!

Do i see that correctly that we could use 14 mil to sign someone from FA?
Would that be enough to sign brogdon outright?
iirc, the MLE only works for trades and waiver pickups, not to include FAs.

Edit: Nope, now I read it both ways and am back to not being sure...

I seem to remember similar conditions of the past and I wrongly surmised the Kings (with cap space) would be a great benefactor. It never turned out that way because teams "made" cap space through various deals.

Yeah, the Nets are actually in a pretty good spot to make teams pay to be dumping ground again. They have a ton of firsts that aren't really in a super value range but they might be able to use them and space to move up.

So is the idea we draft a pg + add schroder? if that's the case, we need to move at minimum 3 of Demar, LaVine, Carter, Monk right?
New PG + Schroder
LaVine/Keon
Keegan
New PF
Sabonis/Jval

I dont see how you add Schroder + a rookie pg, but hang onto Keon, LaVine, Monk, Demar. Unless we are just committing to playing undersized all year again. Priority #1 needs to be moving Keegan back to the 3 so we can see what we have there.

I’m not so sure we’re zeroed in on a point guard in the draft. I honestly think Perry is more enamored with the forwards and wings in this class given his press conference comments so I think if you see CMB or someone start sliding in the draft, that’s when you might see the trade smoke blowing from the G1C chimney.

As they should. I'm tired of drafting pgs. I need a 20th pick steal like Jalen Johnson or Trey Murphy.
