Possible Blockbuster?

Okay guys.....here's what I heard this morning. There is a possible big trade coming down between 3 or 4 teams. Peja, Daniels and Barnes are involved. Paul Pierce, Al Harrington and Antoine Walker are involved. Also mentioned was the Bulls. I'm not sure of the exact structure of the deal, but it sounds like we get Pierce and Harrington.

Ordinairily this is the kind of dribble that I would immediately dismiss. But the source is a person in the local sports media. I would mention the name, but I don't want to get them pissed at me. But to be honest, it still could be BS only because GP keeps stuff like this close to his vest and I can't imagine how even this person could get some inside skinny.

Just passing it along. Don't kill me too bad.

I'm said before, Paul Pierce is the ONLY SF, I'd take over Peja. Who knows ... if there is truth to this, it might explain why he is sitting out now with a back injury he's had for weeks.

My guess is that's why Chicago would be involved somehow ... to balance out the salaries.

Straight up yes but I have heard about a trade involving Artest and Pollard to Atlanta for Walker but when you have 3 or 4 teams involved you can do things to make it work. Who knows.

I love Pedja, but for Pierce...Petrie work your magic.

Don't know how the numbers would work. I've always been against trading Pedja because I didn't think we could get real value for him, but if we could get Pierce it would be great. I don't think we could do much better than that. Have trouble believing they would want to trade Pierce for someone with undiagnosed back problems that may or may not (hopefully NOT) be a long term problem. Would definitely make things interesting.

Salaries are out of whack so it would be very complicated.

Yesterday morning while listening to the local morning radio show one of the guys said to expect some big news in the NBA yesterday afternoon but that was all he said. Maybe there is some truth to this.......Peja held out of the game last night???? It will be interesting to see who plays for the Celtics tonight.

Hmm.. everything I heard said it WAS about his back. We will see. I've heard (from another thread - no personal knowledge here) that he is supposed to play tonight. Don't know if it's a good idea healthwise, but if he plays tonight that would indicate that he wasn't kept out of the game due to a coming trade. Doesn't mean he couldn't be traded of course.

Now talk about a bad trade ... Rasheed is a problem waiting to happen, has ZERO passing ability, is in love with the 3 and will start launching them with Larry Brown not stopping him. By the way ... he is having one of the worst years of his career.

The idea the Kings would keep Pedja out of a game before a trade had actually gone down is ridiculous. If you recall, Bradley was virtually yanked off the floor because the trade for him and Cat had actually become a reality. They didn't tell him not to play because there MIGHT be a trade.

Actually, you're wrong on both counts. There are a lot of benefits to trading Pierce for Pedja for both clubs. It is a lot more enticing than the Pedja for Artest scenarios, especially for the Kings IMHO.

Just for the record, we've had a plethora of threads about trading Webber. I'd kinda like to see this one stick a little to the topic at hand.

Bradley was throw in to make the trade work. What happens sometimes is that players will not play pending approval of a trade. I know this is all wild speculation but it would take some time for the league to approve a 3-4 team trade and that might be what has happened. However, if we don't hear anything by 4:30 those who have the nba package should click on the TV to see if Pierce is playing.

But, not to add fuel to the fire........did anyone else notice that Daniels was also "held" out of the game last night......
