FREETOWN, Sierra Leone - Police hunted Monday for chimpanzees that escaped from a Sierra Leone preserve and mauled a group of American and local sightseers,
killing one man and injuring four people. The U.S. Embassy warned Americans against traveling to the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where the chimps escaped before Sunday's attack on a taxicab.....

Most peoples' perception of chimps is of a cute, lovable "hairy baby" with an occasional penchant for mischief. Chimpanzee's are omnivores, they're just as likely to hunt down smaller monkeys for food just as eat a piece of fruit.

Actually chimps are dangerous. Most chimps in acts were younger ones. I remember being told (anthropology class?) they could hit your forehead with the heel of their hand with enough force to take the top off your head off.

Cured me completely of thinking they were "cute."
