Play by play and game threads?

I was curious if the play-by-play or game threads were going to be done for the preseason games? I don't think I was here for the preseason last year so I don't know if and when that starts or who did them for that matter.


Sorry bout the new thread, wasn't sure where to ask.

Procwedural question? Quotes from Exestential Psychiitrists... I'm guessing your not a Brad Miller fan ;)

OK now the kidding is out of the way the only one who really can answer thsi one is VF 21 as she is the desiginated PBP person, but if she won't or can't and there is a demand I guess some of us third stringers could sit in.
 
Do y'all know if the preseason games are braodcast on audio leaguepass? I can't remember from past seasons. Obviously, I can't receive KHTK on the radio, so I depend on league pass.

IIRC, some of these stations do webcasts. I think I was once able to listen to a game by webcast from one these, although I could just be imagining it.

If anyone has a moment to look these up and check it out please post an url.

KBLF - 1490 AM - Red Bluff
KCBL - 1340 AM - Fresno
KMYC - 1410 AM - Marysville
KNCO - 830 AM - Grass Valley
KNRO - 1670 AM - Redding
KTIQ - 1660 AM - Merced
KHTK--1140 AM/Sacramento (Flagship Station)
 
KHTK does NOT do web broadcasts.

I'll try to do the PBP tomorrow. It should be interesting, considering I don't know half the team.

Hmm... it must of been the other teams radio stations because i remember listning to alot of games...
 
Optimum - You might have listened to games. I'm talking about the web broadcasts. KHTK does not do them. Of course they broadcast over the air. What you probably heard via the computer was the other team's broadcast - from Arco or wherever.

Bibbinator - If any of those stations do live game WEB broadcasts, it's news to me. If you find out more info. be sure and post it for everyone. Yes, you can follow Kings games on the Internet - via audio league pass - but to the best of my knowledge you are NOT going to hear OUR broadcast team.

Reminder: I do the play-by-play thread, which is NOT interactive. The game thread, traditionally started by piksi, IS interactive and participation is encouraged.

OMG - It's only 25 hours until KINGS BASKETBALL!!!
 
I will NOT start any game threads during the pre season. It's not that hard - so if anyone else wants to do it - go for it.

As far as I am concerned - pre season is there for our players to get UIOF - therefore I will boycott the pre season. The problem is just that finley never rests

Season starts NOV 1st

I have to disagree, piksi. THIS year I think the pre-season is going to be very important. We have more talent in camp than we have room for, we have a battle for at least one starting position. For the first time in a long time, the pre-season games are going to IMHO be used for the right reason. To assess the possibilities in game situations before making the final decisions about who will and who won't be wearing Kings PURPLE come Nov. 1.

Someone asked me about a grades thread too -- I hadn't actually been planning on it, but since there's interest I'll try to give it a go as long as the game is televised out here (should be, but have not checked).
 
Of course you have to do the grade threads. You think we get the nice car and fancy houses just for moderating???

BTW, how do you like how the new Lexus handles?

we have like 10-12 guaranteed contracts and RA plays 7-9 guys so - I don't expect any surprises

Thanks for all the info. Now that I'm not in Cali anymore I don't know how I'm going to manage getting game info except from here and the few national televised games that come through. Oh the joys of being in college! I do appreciate the work put in here and all the info you guys all provide, thanks again and GO KINGS!!!!

i've missed that :(

i can't wait for the game chats, even though i won'd be able to watch any of the pre season games taht aren't on national television

You know...there was a time when I couldn't stand to read anything you wrote piksi, but the more I read, the more I see I agree.

Before you get too excited I still only agree with you about 25% of the time. Its better than nothing, right?
 
great news guys, the team is back! I think this year is going to be very interesting and through you all, we won't miss anything. In advance thanks, yea even you piksi;), you guys do an awesome job!

BTW, unless I am missing something, I don't think the game will be televised back here. Hence no grades. Am assuming it must be only televised on the Comcast channel at that rate?


On the plus side though, means I can enjoy dinner with an old friend who is in town tonight and not worry about scurrying back early. :)

As far as I know, the game is only being carried on Comcast West.

I'm gonna try and do the PBP, although having to learn all those new names and numbers might end up with some weird commentary.

You can listen online through nba.com. I pay to listen to the regular season games, but preseason games are free!
