Pistons make offer to Pryz, but end up with Nazr (edited title)

this is indeed true. of course, the pistons have the allure of a starting position and a contender's resume. ben wallace was a huge part of their title runs, but there's still enough talent in the starting 5 to make another run, although i do believe age and a lack of depth is really gonna catch up to the pistons after this next season. maybe pryzbilla likes his chances with the younger kings squad. i dunno. tough to say. he's even come out and said he's unsure of whether to be excited or scared about this next step in his career. he calls it a stressful situation, and i suppose it is. who's got the best shot at offering a winning situation? those remaining teams who can throw money at pryzbilla certainly don't bring great championship prospects to the table, so he's gonna have to decide how badly he wants to win...or chase the dollar. it'll be interesting to see what happens for joel, as well as the remaining free agents of note. they're going fast!
Yes. But Brad Miller isn't a certainity to be back, who knows what becomes of him. 
Also, the Pistons won't be as good as they were with Ben. And now with Flip at the helm. They'll likely drop down a level, and lose a lot of toughness.
I'm okay with Pryz going to Pistons. I'd rather get Nazr Mohammed. I wonder if the Spurs panic and go back after him after Nazr turned them down.

brad miller may indeed not be back next season. of course, geoff petrie won't pull the trigger on that kind of a trade unless he felt he was getting a fair amount of talent in return. brad miller hasn't lost so much of his usefulness that geoff is gonna break his contract down into flexible pieces through a trade.
i personally try not to consider the unknowns in these kinds of situations, and i'm certain pryzbilla isn't sitting around wondering whether the kings are gonna ditch miller so they can start him if they sign him. i'm certain he would prefer the kings traded brad miller, but he's not gonna wait around for that to happen, as he sounds rather anxious about finding his next nba home.

Well now that's interesting -- have to believe the Pistons wanted Pryz first, so if they end up with the booby prize that must mean that despite his agent's seemign attempts to push him to Detroit, Pryz wants to go somewhere else. My guess is San Antonio, but at least we're still in the game.
Also likely means that they didn't feel they had a shot at Bonzi with the MLE.
As an aside, Joe Dumars has been a tremendous GM, but he's really whiffed badly in the last 6 months. First he trades away Darko with the stated purpose of getting enough money to resign Ben. Then he loses Ben anyway (and wouldn't it be nice to have Darko to step in). And his save? Nazr bleeping Mohammed. They have really taken some shots, and barring something dramatic, that championship windown likely just snapped shut.
Damn, well there goes another... at least Pryzbilla's still available, but like Brick said, Spurs are likely gonna get him. Doubt he turns down playing next to Tim Duncan rather than being a back-up to a jumpshooting center in Brad Miller.

Totally agree. Since the deadline deal for Wallace that fell into his lap, Dumars has whiffed terribly on just about everything. Trading Darko could go down as a bigger blunder than drafting Darko.

Or you move Miller back to PF where he'll be more effective defensively (barely more), and move Kenny Thomas out of town.

Call me stupid but I don't see the Spurs going "up" but in fact are on the decline. All of their role players that they surrounded Duncan with are really showing age and Duncan is already 30 and is showing some wear and tear on his body.
Looks like that doesn't matter now... Pryzbilla back to Portland.
I agree they're definitely older and aging now... mainly the bench. Bowen can still go. Finley's still pretty good, Horry, who knows, could of been the series vs. Dallas, could of not. Barry's older, can still hit shots though.
But they still have Duncan/Parker/Manu as a solid core, plus Bowen. Duncan's older yes, but 29. Then you got Mahinmi, maybe Scola, and Javotkas overseas. Javtokas and Scola coming over this season, I think.
They just need a couple young guys for the bench. Wouldn't be surprised if they get Marcus Banks, who in May it was reported they'd be going after him. Then get an athletic swingman like Ron Dupree, who they wanted, and I like.

We'll see what happens. Regardless of anything or anyone, need some front-court defense/athleticism in there, at least 2 guys.
