Pics from the Game 4/15

Here are some of the highlights from the game today. I took my camera with me since we were actually in row 9.

Kevin Martin chatting with the ref before the game.

Artest about to get one of his 10 assists.

In our sections this guy was in a red and blue suit, leading everyone in Will Ferrell/Cheri Oteri SNL cheers. He also got a wave going through Staples.

Corey Maggette about to run someone over to draw a foul.

Tim Thomas deciding to actually play in the 4th quarter. Of course by then it was too late.

A few thoughts from watching the Clippers throughout the game:

1. They had already given up before the game started, they only who had any energy (Or Pride) was Elton Brand. The whole let Shareef dunk on the twice, very easily in the first few minutes.
2. They players have already completely tuned out Mike Dunleavy, good thing they gave him an extension.
3. Chris Kaman looks terrible. Brad Miller on one leg was moving better. He should try growing his hair out again to see if he can gets his basketball powers back.
4. The effect when Sam Cassell comes into the game on the fans is amazing. They have no hope when he is not in.
5. Ron Artest outworked the entire Clipper team, the Clippers were slow to every loose ball in the first half, the crowd was not happy.

The blame for the Win rests solely with the Clippers, they came out looking to lose. I guess they wanted an early vacation. Muss was playing 4 bench players and Artest for the last 10 minutes and did not run a play the entire time, as far I could tell.
As for the rest of the game:
1. Francisco looks like an amazing player, he playing with a ton of confidence. The section I was in, was stunned by him.
2. Douby looks fine on the defensive end, but looks like Kevin Martin in his first year. He is just way too timid, and way to light to drive into the defense.
3. I think Ron Ron was subbing himself.
4. I yelled at Mussleman to put Ronnie in during a timeout, but he just ignored me ;)
5. The Clippers have way too many between timeout fan games, they go overboard. One guy made a free thrown on his second attempt, blindfolded. Of course then he only got a lousy gift certificate.
6. There were a lot of Kings Fans in attendance, Bibby was the most popular jersey.
7. My Wife with the Kevin Martin Jersey:D

Nice seats. Ronnie wasn't in because of that fall the other night. I may have missed it before but is there proof that Artest is just subbing himself now? And how did Magette get to the basket so many times considering that he will always drive?

Kaman has cut his hair? It was the coolest thing about him (well that and his ADHD)

I was wondering why he did not play, I was hoping to finally catch him live this year.

As for Maggette, he just runs into people. In the first 1/2 he did not score and had a few turnovers. I think he just wears people down and they start fouling him.

Some have said that Justin doesn't look too big, being skinny, and 6'7.75" tall in bare feet. But next to Douby, he looks perfectly huge.

OK, so he's not big compared to Tim Duncan, but he's still big for a Sacramento King. :p

The gold jersey looks nice on your wife, good to see that they do have a redeeming characteristic after all.

Justin has said that he plans to spend the summer in Sacramento working in the weight room and working with the coaches (if we have any).

Thanks for the pics! And the observations about the teams. Maybe next year we (meaning Kingsfans.com) can try to get at least one of our members to report on every game.

Anyway, thanks again!!!

:D

You can count me in for the two Clippers games for next year. I love Arco, but fans should really see what other NBA arenas are like. That might make our need for a new arena a little more obvious.

Great!

It's so easy to take pictures and post them now, what with digital cameras and sites like photobucket, that I encourage any of our Kings fans who root for the team in places other than Arco to feel free to post some pics.

Thanks for the great pics and the observations. I actually went to a Kings game in Chicago and their arena makes Arco look like an old outdated HS gym. Really.

nice pics!

sounds like you had a great time. the kings lost the only game i went to this year ( here in portland) but i still had a great time.
