Phoenix / Kings

Denio

G-League
Phoenix trades Shawn Marion

Sac trades Ron Artest and KT

For the Suns they unload a player not happy with his role and a large salary

For Sac they get a player of equal talent ( their mpg and numbers are almost the same ) and they rid themselves of KT.

Trade 2

Kings trade Artest - KT - SAR

Suns trade Marion and Marcus Banks.. (Piatkowski works also instead of Banks)

For Phoenix they get a player the same age / size / and equal production as Marion and decent help at PF position.

For the Kings they make room for their younger players at the PF and get a good player at the 3 position

I just don't see enough reason for the Suns to do either of those two proposals. Us wanting it doesn't make it attractive to them. And the justification that "For the Suns they unload a player not happy with his role and a large salary" is rather ironic, isn't it, since that's pretty much a description of Kenny Thomas? He wouldn't be happy in Phoenix, either and I think Mike D'Antoni knows that even better than we do.

Sorry, but I can't see any way those deals would come down.

Suns should keep Marion and trade Diaw.

both players are very useful. diaw came in handy when the bigs went down as he could move over to play the pivot position. marion can guard the 2, small forwards and also tweener pf's. they should just keep the team intact while they are making their championship run unless a unbelievable deal comes along for a bigman. they're players fit their system.

Oh I agree completely there. They need to suck it up and pay the luxury tax while they still have the luxury of a healthy Nash and a chance to contend. Otherwise, they may cost cut their way out of contention--then what's the point?

I should have prefaced my previous statement: If they really have to trade someone to cut costs (and the Kurt Thomas trade was already a travesty) make it Diaw not Marion.

I don't see the Suns trading any of their core players now that Steve Kerr is the new General Manager. He made that ridiculous Kurt Thomas trade, moving two first round picks for a second round pick in order to free up money to keep his core group intact. Marion is a perennial all-star who plays starting PF for a team desperate for big bodies. Though it would be fricking awesome for the Kings to steal that talent from a division rival for a combustible Artest, I don't see this move even being offered, let alone agreed to.

The Sun's might bite on an offer for Brad Miller and Ron Artest though, if it meant unloading Markus Banks...Something about having Brad and Nash on the court together with a bunch of finishers seems sexy to me (thats almost 20 assists per game:D). Amare and Ron could do all the rebounding and finishing down low, and Barbosa, Hill, and Bell would light it up from outside.

The only trade I could imagine is SARs for Banks. Each team actually might benefit from the trade actually. Banks would fit better on the Kings then Phx and SARs contract isn't nearly as long as Banks.

I just don't think anyone wants Bank's contract.

Oh gosh stop the trade purposals like this....this is terrible!!

WE have noooo chance getting Marion and also WHY?? just WHY would division rivals trade with each other. If thats the case we might as well revist the odom for bibby trade again GEES

just WHY would division rivals trade with each other.

if it's mutually beneficial, with the team on the rise (PHX) gaining now, and the team on the decline (SAC) gaining later, then it works for both sides.

just saying, it's not like it's impossible.

I really like this trade idea, PHX is looking everywhere for a role playing big man, they are even talking about giving Potapenko a tryout! SAR would be the perfect fit for what they are looking for AND they get a shorter contract. Banks would give us the backup we are looking for AND remove make way for our younger big men! both teams get two positives from the trade! make it happen Petrie!! http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Suns-still-after-a-big-man?urn=nba,45121

Please no...Markus Banks still has 4 years left on his contract...We already have an up and coming point guard on the roster to back up Bibby, and his name is Quincy Douby!!! Give the kid a chance.

I don't think the Suns want to add on a 6'7" PF named Kenny Thomas and an aging SAR. SAR can contribute something and although the Suns had the 6'6" PF Charles Barkley, KT doesn't come close to the rebounding skills of Barkley.
