Peter Vescey says Peja gone this summer

Honestly, I hope this is true, but of course, it is the New York Post.

www.nypost.com/sports/41012/.htm

At the same time I want to apologize for excluding Mike Bibby from my "Every team should have one . . . list." Since Chris Webber was traded eight games ago (you know very well Peja Stojakovic is next to go come summer) the pressure point guard has led or tied the Kings (5-3) in scoring six times. More significantly, he locked down the last two (Grizzlies and Clippers) with serene accuracy.

How good is Bibby? Geoff Petrie says Sacramento's only untouchables are Mike and Pete Carril.

Geoff Petrie has NEVER said Mike Bibby is untouchable.

I also hope that this is true... We need an atheltic player who can drive to the basket, get rebounds, and most importantly a player who can create his own shot...

But this article has 0 credibility, without clicking i can bet it's written by Peter Vecsey

edit: lol it is, i just clicked.

I was thinking that too. No Kings is "untouchable". Although Bibby is probably the most likely not trade...but you never know in NBA business.

Looks like just another writer's opinion like always.

I agree that no one is untouchable, even though Mike's D is horrendous, I would like to think that Petrie has no intention whatsoever of trading him. Now Peja on the other hand, hopefully will be gone this summer with an athletic rebounder coming our way.

i was thinking it might have been Mr. Vecsey when i saw NY Post cuz he's the only sportswriter that i know who works for that paper....but i didn't click the link...

I like Peter Vecsey when he shows up on game nights on NBATV to dish all the lastest NBA gossip (hey im a gossip queen)...but when i read an article i want it to be legit and factual (<--is that a word)...

I also hope that this is true... I want to see Peja in a better team.

Peter Vescey has never let the facts get in the way of his own opinions. I've changed the title of the thread so people won't waste their time clicking to read the rest of the article unless they're fond of his drivel.

;)

Thanks for changing the title, VF. I was going to thank mazzystar cause I thought he/she did it.

Btw, CONGRATS on your 10,000th posts!!! :)

Sorry to hijack the thread---on second thought, its Vescey so who cares ;)

CONGRATS VF21 on surpassing the 10,000 post mark! So what is that all together, around 20,000 :D

At the risk of getting in trouble Peter Vecsey is a Jack.... How does he know what PETRIE is thinking when his own wife doesn't?

As a matter of fact, it's up around 33,000 now. I had over 23,000 when we had the server problem.

thats very true there is no such this as an untouchable in the NBA. Who knows maybe the Kings could get a great trade for mike bibby, mostly not but you just never know in the NBA. Plus i'm sure people thought Webber was never gonna get traded and looked what happened there.

If we do end up trading Peja, I certainly HOPE it won't be for another athletic rebounder. Our biggest need is defense. We need a defender much more than another rebounder. In addition, Peja averages over 20 points a game. I would think we'd need to consider replacing at least a good portion of those points. Our scoring pool is NOT what it was ...

I agree VF21, forgot to put Defender as well. That's the main deficiency in the Kings arsenal. A good permiter defender. Anyone throw out any names. The only good perimeter defenders I know of are Ron Ron, Posey, and Hassel.

We need a player who can get to the basket and create his own shot....and can also play decent D....

any ideas? ....who could we trade Peja for? also, do you guys think Mobley will re-sign.....if he won't, do we have a shot at Ray Allen?

I like cat, I do, but I think he's gonna opt out. I really really wish we could get Joe Johnson somehow. Can do a little of everything, and pretty decent defender.

Old troll; new name. And not very original at that.

As far as Peja is concerned, I would love to see him stay, get his game back to where he can be an integral part of our offense and see him play the type of defense he was actually playing earlier this year. It's wasn't all-defensive team by any means but it was better than it's been before.

Peja is never going to be a rebounding juggernaut but he can still be a very valuable part of the "new Kings." I don't want to see him leave. I want him back and productive. His sweet corner three and his shot from about three feet beyond the arc at the top of the key can take my breath away and I don't want to lose that.

Don't give up on Peja quite yet, fellow Kings fans.

Sittin' Here Sighing ...

I haven't given-up on Peja ....

but, I gotta admit .... I'm gettin' fed-up with his LACK OF PRODUCTION.

Can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am in him.

We do have some bright spots (other players), and that's what will probably get me thru the season. Because of Peja's inconsistency, I don't even get excited when he hits a shot ... that's sad. I sit there thinkin', "bout freakin' time".

Well, like I said .... I haven't given-up on him .... he's my boy.
