This is what has always bothered me about this forum. When a perfectly valid post such as Rockmeister's is different from the so-called "conventional wisdom," everyone pounces on it like it was the plague. And I thought this was the tolerant board. Instead of discussing it rationally, Rock's post is vilified. Oh well, so much for not attacking other posters.
And the opinion apparently drawn from that article is that the Kings may move someday? Um, OK......
A) Everyone knows the Kings COULD move someday. Isn't that the point of the upcoming proposal, to find a way to get a new arena built? Haven't we been battling this problem for a few years now?
B) The article specifically states that no conversations have been held about moving the team to another city at this point. But all of a sudden there is a newfound realization that the team could move??????
C) We have a new mayor that seems to be taking a much more proactive approach to ensuring that the team stays local. If anything, there is an improvement in the political atmosphere over the previous administration.
None of the posts were deleted and certainly not "vilified". Everyone is free to post their opinions, only posts violating the posting rules get removed/edited. But expect to take some "heat" if others disagree with what you post, especially if you are linking to (or in this case, referencing without linking - an invitation to confusion about what the heck you might be referring to) an article and it is generally interpreted differently than you interpret it. I've got no problem with Rock at all - she and I have exchanged PMs on a couple different non-Kings topics (TVs, home theater issues, etc.).
If you have any additional questions or problems about any of this, PM a mod and discuss it there. This is not the place to drag this issue out any further.
