Final year of his deal paying 15mill

Many on here have proposed that we rid either Beno or Cisco due to there contracts and this does provide an opportunity.

We do have key players in there final year of contracts as well as our youngsters who will have to be re-uped in the near future.

Thoughts?

Two guys I wouldn't get rid of are Cisco and Beno. At least not now. On a team this young you have to have some experienced players. Both Beno and Cisco are playing well, so I see no need to get rid of either one.

No, no, no, no, no. Cisco has been basically our best player this year, and if he keeps it up he (like Beno last year) will no longer be considered among the "overpaid" players on our team. Like Baja says, at this point neither Cisco or Beno are guys we are looking to get rid of. If the right trade comes along, we'd have to listen, but we're not trying to dump their future salaries.

Yep agree with you both, i am a fan of Beno and Tyrekes backcourt partnership and love what Cisco brings off the bench. Both offer great leadership and intangibles which we need on this young team however considering what was talked about in the offseason i felt we give this our due diligence.

Besides Peja is washed up... guy is a walking injury waiting to happen...pay 15mil for someone who we loved b4? Time to get over it... l2love the new guys...that includes both Beno and Cisco who are doing great job.. I've always been a fan of Cisco regardless of his injury last year.. never thought he was overpaid, he always get his job done being it on D or Offense...

why would you want to get rid of beno?

He is one of the most efficient players we have had in years. Just for the sake of freeing up money this offseason and start the entire process again?

He's got bad gas that's why! LOL

Like his fellow Memphis alumni in DRose...who benefited by having Capt Kirk next to him on the Bulls...Tyreke benefits by having a good ball handler in Beno next to him so he can be the combo guard we all know he is. :-)

Remember that Peja doesn't like the Kings anymore because they ditched Vlade.

That reminds me of how I like the Kings less for ditching Udoka (for Antoine Wrong no less) and, yes I'm going to say it, Justin Williams.

I am one of those who wants Beno out of our team because Beno is the root cause of this terrible defense by the Kings. The terrible defense starts with Beno not able to stay in front of his man causing too much confusion when the other players have to cover up for his deficiencies. It is not like we have a Webber, Divac, Christie, etc. who can cover-up for him. My concern could have been less if Westphal does not have a love-affair with Beno or if Westphal does not play Beno starter minutes, or if the other players with Beno are exceptional defenders that can consistently cover-up for him. It is more or less the same reason why I liked the aging Bibby to be traded before, despite his playmaking skills and great offense.

Now, you are proposing bringing in a washed-up Peja. Another non-defending player. Yes, he is an expiring contract worth $15M and a very good shooter. But as of now we don't need another expiring contract and including Garcia on the trade who has been doing a very good job as the roleplayer next to Evans is lose-lose situation.

If it was the combination of non-defending players like Landry (who would open up some minutes for JT and Whiteside) and Beno in exchange for this $15M expiring contract, then I might have second thoughts.

It would only make sense if we are talking "salary dump"

Getting rid of Cisco and Beno will only speed up rebuilding process because neither one can play a big role in a winning team. Getting rid of them just for Pedja makes no sense unless you are dumping salary before lockout season.

Pedja as player has no business on a young team. He could be useful on a winning team like Steve Kerr used to be. He can still shoot but that is about it.
