I hate to say it but a big part of me doubts it. The truth of the matter is that Peja is unhappy in Sac. I'm not sure that he realizes that the King's offense is really perfect for him to utilize his shooting ability. It just seems unlikely that a man who openly demands to be traded would resign with the team that he wants to be traded from.

Oh geez. Like we don't already have enough threads about this in one way or the other?

The truth of the matter is NONE of us know the truth of the matter. We do not know what has transpired between Pedja, his agent, Geoff Petrie, the Maloofs, etc. since the season started. And quite frankly there's no reason for us to know.

Pedja openly demanded a trade. He didn't get it. That's all we know for sure.

Right now, I'm just worry if Pedja is getting better. ;)

You should have just left your previous post than editing and making a new post about his contract. ;) These kind of thread/posts usually ends up being pages and pages.

I don't see the point of this post. I know it's a joke but there's no point to it.

I found it pretty funny.

Anyway, he signed through next season and if he doesn't step it up when it counts I don't want him.

its basically my way of saying...oh boy here goes the start of a i hate Peja, Peja sux, Peja isn't tough, Peja isn't clutch thread...regardless or not if the person who started the thread meant it to be...you gotta know when you start threads like this thats the end result...and personally im tired of the fight

and really i don't see the point in the original post...i just don't think its necessary at this time...especially when most people are just gonna say...right now im concentrating on Peja getting healthy again and taking it one game at a time...no one REALLY wants to hear a question like that until the season is over

I think a lot of us are just weary of arguing the same things over and over.

My advice is to simply skip on to the next thread. Some people can argue the same thing over and over and over again. They'll be happy with this thread. The rest of us can talk about new things.

;)

Interesting comment, considering your signature.

We'll see how this season plays out first.

1) Smells Like Team Spirit: everybody else seems to be pretty much on board now. Team seems united and cohesive. Except for possibly Peja. Not sure with him yet. If he ends up being the lone gloomy gus while the rest of the guys are playing inspired ball, he might not even have a chance to resign (i.e. we may decide to trade him). He needs to join the party and bring his best.

2) let's see how far we go in then playoffs, and what happens there. If we get really deep again (WCF or further) it makes a big difference and may mean that we keep the team together, or try to. And also should make it harder for Peja to decide to leave. At least in theory. If we fall well short though, flame out early, it may encourage him to renew his demands. It may also lead to a breakup of the team, which may work for keeping Peja or against keeping him depending on what pieces are moved.

3) finally, let's see how he performs this postseason. Next summer he is going to be looking for a maximum extension. If he has another major struggle in the playoffs I'm not sure we can give it to him -- hard to win a championship with a huge chunk of salary dedicated to a guy who can't help you when it matters. On the other hand if he comes through, we probably go deeper into the playoffs which sets up #2 above.

3 very good points. i especially like that first one. he has obviously been hampered by back problems of late, but i would like to see him play with some fire again (ie: kings vs jazz 1/13). he needs to get on board, cuz it would be difficult for the kings to make a championship run without him.

Brick and VF1 -- with all due respect, Peja requested a trade at the beginning of the season, he did not demand. I checked into the "requested vs. demanded" statements before and I am not wrong. Don't want to spark fires OR fan flames, just tryin' to defend Peja's integrity (what little seems to be left around here).... :o

You may say "whether or not he requested or demanded is insignificant", the real issue is he just wanted out. Since he has not recanted, I suspect he will still be looking for somewhere else to go. I also suspect he will not be happy until he does go, half the season gone and although he appears to be happily going about his business, Kings offense can live without him I think.

I say let him go, good luck Peja. Can't build a team around him because his voice is not loud enough, and there are too many others on the team ready and willing to fill his shooting spot.
