Too early to tell. I just hope he gets his a** on court and plays the way hes capable of playing. Thats all I care about.

If he doesn't Geoff would look like a total fool. But I think that he would have made sure of that much atleast.

The Real Question is will his hamstring suddenly be OK now? If he plays tonight I will be a little suspicious.......

I was talking about that today. It's odd how he hurts his hammy against Boston and all of the sudden he gets the flu and is sent home. He was nowhere to be found on the bench during the Atlanta game and I'm wondering if he just got fed-up and said he won't be playing again until they get rid of Webb???

Loved the whole conspiracy theory aspect of this but if he is out tonight then I can just throw it out the window.

i dont know about conspiracy theories, tho i have to say its not out of teh realm of possibility.

to me, it just seems like peja is missing an unnecessary amount of games for a pulled hammy and a touch of the flu. regardless of his relationship w/ webber, he just hasnt seemed all that eager or driven to get back out on the court.

I was at the game the other night.. 2nd row near kings bench (kinda... Kings Row 2 sec. 121) and Peja seemed fine.. But he was sitting away from Webber, and was not really acknowledging anyone on the team.

Yeah, I think that much of Peja's problem is mental. He doesn't want to be here, and he doesn't care if he plays. Whether or not this trade will fix that remains to be seen. Maybe we'll have to bring Vlade back to make him happy.;)

He better... he should know that Petrie did this for him and if he still leaves... its gonnab chaos here...

Even Petrie may not want him back if he doesn't perform well in the playoffs. I think we will have to wait & see on this one.

Actually, he was on the bench at the game against Atlanta. Sitting, in a suit, next to Special K at the end of the bench. Looking pretty amicable, but KHTK had Chad Ford (who usually is less than informed, however in this instance he used the dreaded 'sources within Peja's camp' to bolster what little credibility he has) According to him, Peja's 'camp' (what is this, Girl Scouts?????) is 'ecstatic' over the deal and had been lobbying since 'the trade me' talk for the removal of Webber from the team.
What a freaking soap opera.

this is what kinda bothers me. he may or may not have had a poor relationship with webb this season, but i dont like that he seems to be distancing himself from the team. that's probably the word i would use to describe peja so far this season: "distant." its like he's off in his own world sometimes. kings basketball has always been about community. even those guys who dont seem to fit in can fit in with the kings. its what makes it a desirable place to be traded to...and the fact that peja may or may not feel like he belongs bothers me. its that low self-esteem factor and the softness we've been talking about. he needs to regain some fire, if it was ever there to begin with.

I ran into peja at Chicago O'hare airport (2/15/05), he was on the flight bound to SAC, I didn't recgonize him until the flight attendant mention a "shooter", I looked over my should to see a very tall white euro dude, w/ a beanie on, it didn't cross my mind until a second look, I notice it was Peja. he bought to first class tickets on United for himself, I wanted to ask for his autograph but was scared sh** of rejection, his daddy I assumed came to picked him up in a black SUV, he didn't look sick to me (but again i was star shocked)

I know I'm looking way too far ahead and may seem like a cynic, but as of right now, I don't see a huge problem if Peja doesn't stay after his contract runs up. If he decides that this isn't the place for him (or the Kings decide for him), I would think that he would be loyal and grateful enough to go ahead with a sign and trade deal that would allow the Kings to get equal trade value. Assuming they even want equal trade value....

You can't bank on that. And sign and trades are NOT good deals as a rule for the sign and trading teams -- you are over the barrel and take what you can get. Be MUCH better for us to trade him this offseason if we can see his departure coming.
