You said you were going to hold off until a FEW MORE game. And you said that yesterday. Since then, the Kings have only played ONE game.

I've kept my mouth shut about trade Peja this, trade Peja that. But, he has slowly widdled away at me. He doesn't want to be here, and I don't want him here. Sure Mike Bibby missed his final shot, while being mugged mind you, but you can't question him. How many buzzer beaters has he had. Peja had to opprotunities, one pretty much an airball, and the last second one with no one in his face. He is not clutch, he can't handle pressure.

I hop they main move we make this off season is packaging Eddie House with Peja, maybe even Ostertag to make contracts match etc., and send them of somewhere for someone, or a couple, good quality players. I also hope Mobley opts out. I like him, but I'd rather see Evans in the 2. If Ostertag wasn't included in a trade, cut him and pick up some other back up center, or make Ostertag run and workout his *** off this summer. So, this would be our line up if I had it my way.

Point
Mike Bibby
Bobby Jackson

2 Guard
Maurice Evans
Kevin Martin

Power Forward
Darius Songaila
Kenny Thomas

Small Forward
Insert kick *** player here
Corliss Williamson

Center
Brad Miller
Brian Skinner

You know what you are talking about when you put Kevin Martin as a PF.

What amazes me is that people are some how expecting an out side shooting small forward to lead a team anywhere. Honesty kids there has NEVER been a team who was carried by a "pure shooter". They are great to have on the team, they can realy contribute in terms of spreading the floor and racking up points on good nights, but with no credible presence down low on the other side of the court all you really get is lots of great shots long rebounds and low percentage shooting over all (sound familier?) I said it once I'll say it again, you do NOT build a team arround a pure shooter, eg: The Jazz had the best outside shooter in the game in Hornechcek, but he NEVER was the cornerstone of the team.

I was never for building a team around Peja. I just want someone who shoots a bit more consistantly, is better at shooting off the dribble and when being defended, and can handle pressure shooting.

Well you're hardly going to find anybody who shoots more consistently. The questions with Peja have just always been can he do it when it matters, and will he do enough other things that you don't need to spend all game covering for him.

GO PEJA!!
YOU CAN DO IT PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT!!!!

(i use this thread as simply my GO PEJA thread...in the midst of all the Peja discussion/arguing I like to inject a GO PEJA every once in a while :) )

I don't want more consistant, I want someone who can shoot under pressure, while being pressured defensively, and has heart. I'm sorry. I've liked Peja forever. I've tried to stand up for him in convos and see the pluses. But it's gotten to boiling point. The guy has no heart. He's not hungry, he doesn't want it, he does not have the eye of the tiger. There is no two ways about it.

But is that OK as a second option with Bibby as the star?
Not really. With Pedja's no rebounding, no hustle approach and Mike's "what defense?" approach we have two too many nearly superstars already. If they both tried to at least show up on boards and the D respectively (and it has to be all the time) I would say that with Brad they are the core of the next NBA championship challanger if not the champion.

I guess that depends on what you mean by star. If you mean the first scoring option forget it. NOT that Bibby is not great at shoting the ball, but any team that depends on it's PG as a prmary scoring option limits it's passing and scoring options... in short they do NOT play Kings ball. The Princton offense depends on having 4 or 5 scoring threats on the floor, and distributing the ball which menas that in the majority of palys the big men inniate. The Kings were at their most dangerous when Bibby was the #3 scoring option behind WEbb and Pedja, Wecoud see a new incarnation of that IF a big man can step up and innitatie. Were MIller healthy he would be the logical choice, and he may yet step up and take that role (NOTE he does NOT have to lead in scoring, just draw coverage and pass or make the other team pay for laying off him.) In the absence of Webber/Miller it would be nice to see Kenny be that guy butso far that has not happend either: hence the problems the Kings have had since the trade. Bibby is trying to lead the team as a number one scoring option and against smaller teams is works ok but the lack of team assists. For the Kings to be at their Best Bibby can run the team, be the "Star" but as a scoering option he should NOT be number one, and neither shoud Pedja. Think BIG.
