Peja a Hornet - agent confirms it

If its a 5 year deal for 64 million, then its a little over 12 million a year.

$12.8 mil a year, and probably at that rate about $15mil when he's 34-35. That's just way way too much, and was what we were facing not that long ago.

Feel bad for Pacers fans. Two years ago they were one of the powers of the NBA. And now its just been drained away in the suckiest of all possible fashions.

I didn't see this one coming.

I'll be glad to watch him when the hornets play in NO again. Hopefully, one of the 6 games they play here will be against the Kings.

CP3/Moochie
Snyder/JR Smith/Macijauskas
Peja/Mason/Vinicius
West/Simmons/:D Birdman:D
Brown/Armstrong/Mark Jackson

pretty solid team right there, except I would be worried if they dont go after another PG that can back up Paul because they only got Moochie Norris on the roster

Still have big holes at OG and C (like PJ, but he's a PF and doesn't have much time left).

Dang!! That's a lot of money for Peja. I wish him luck.

Sorry, Pacer fans, but you are better off not tying up that much money on him.

Over at the Hornets realgm board.. they're saying they're gonna get Tyson Chandler soon for PJ Brown and JR Smith, though haven't read anything of it. Using "when we get Chandler".

Don't know if that'd be as good as some would think... Tyson's got a big contract, would be in the west next to David West. No inside game, lack of size (just mass for Chandler though), quickness and athleticism and energy, sure. Lose the veteran leadership and experience in Brown.

Many congrats to Peja, however I'm VERY happy that isn't us giving him that type of money. I feel bad for hornets fans more than a do Indy's. They may suck momentarily, but I'd take sucking with cap space over sucking and weighed down with a bad contract anyday.

How could that NOT be good for them?

Trade an over the hill big and an unwanted undersized OG for a 7'1" young big? Man, if that's the kind of asking price, we really REALLY need to get in on that action.

How could it not be good? Well, for what I said. How it'd be good is the athleticism/quickness/energy at the 4/5.

But what I was going to add is you'd have to take the positvies and negatives. Both are key. Then you have two intriguing young rookie bigs who are expected to be starters on the bench. Could well hinder their development.

Just saying I don't think it'd be as good as some would think.

For us, I think we could get Chandler for Brad and Hart, coming back would be Chandler/Duhon. Bulls seem postive to both given what's been talked about, both from the organization and media and fans. Skiles wanting Hart last summer because of his size and tenacity.

64/5 - winning lottery combination. If Hornets ever come back to NO - I might actually stop by more often

Good for Peja. Sorry for the Pacers. Kings did really well with Peja, tho. When he was at his best, we had him for not much money and then he brings us Artest in a trade. Not bad.

Bye Peja! Peja is nice and all but I just couldn't get into watching him play when it meant really low minutes for Granger.

Hornets are coming along nicely. I liked their draft selections.

Byron Scott runs Princeton offense so it makes sense. Wasn't he an assistant to RA back in the glory days ?

Wow that sucks major ballz for the Pacers all they get is an injured Peja for one year in the Artest trade.

It's not like they were actually using Artest anyway, so pretty much they got an expiring contract for Artest. They could have done worst *ahem Webber for Thomas ahem*

Peja for 5 years and 64 Mil.
Radmonovic for 5 years 30 Mil.

Ill take Radmonovic. I'd rather see the Lakers get him than Sam Cassell though...

I went through the posts....didn't see too much discussion about this..

Does anyone just think this is one of those contracts that is prohibitively bad? I just think of contracts like Dunleavy's and Foyle's with the Warriors, Dampier's with the Mavs, Chandler's with the Bulls...etc, etc, etc, where the team who signs them just can't seem to wait to get rid of them.

If this were 5 years, 40 million, ok. But 5 years, 60 million, way overpaying for a player who's never been, nor ever will be, a star who dramatically affects a game.

Just can't help but to feel even a little sorry right now for NO fans since this time next summer, they'll probably be scouring the league for some team to take this contract.

A definite possibility. That's too much $$$ for Peja at this point, but it's their $$$ to spend, so what the heck, lets sit back and watch the shopping spree....

wow!

i'm sure glad we didn't throw that kind of money at peja.

he's going to look simply dreadful in green... *sick face*

He's not worth that much cash. I sure hope Bonzi is being held in complete isolation down at the Kings practice facility.
