I think there was less meddling by Vivek than some believe......I think there was some BS being thrown around by PDA and Mullin. That's the idea that I'm getting from all of this shiz now that PDA is gone.

Consider this - had the Magoofs not intervened in their later years, this team might very well have Steph Curry paired with Boogie Cousins right now.

Geoff Petrie has historically opted to draft/acquire players that were extremely adept at shooting and passing. He drafted Peja, JWill and Kmart while trading for or signing CWebb, Vlade, Bibby and Bobby Jackson. Knowing what we know about his player preferences, I'm 99.9% confident that, had the Maloofs not been in his ear about Tyreke, he would have drafted Steph who, at that time, was a slender, quicker version of Bibby. Instead we got the great "it's changing" speech from the Gavin once they got the 1-on-1 player they wanted.

That fantasy aside, I still have complete faith in Petrie's ability to build a winning team and would love to have him back in some capacity - perhaps as an advisor to Vlade.

You know, I can't claim to have predicted Curry would be this good, but I thought similar things--he seemed like a skinnier Bibby, and just screamed "Petrie pick." I was surprised when we took Evans. Mostly, though, because I thought we'd just snatch Rubio when he fell.

I don't think Malone is a good fit in Denver regardless of PDA. Denver has the advantage of playing and training in higher altitudes, and i really believe you need a fast paced offense there to capitalize on that geographic advantage. Malone's pace is slow, and as much as i enjoyed watching it, i don't think it's the best fit for Denver.

What exactly is he going to say? Of course he will back in his front office regardless of what he really thinks. I wanted PDA out as soon as he sacked Malone but even as straunch as I have been against PDA, there is no doubt he is a great capologist and negotiator (albeit dishonest) and that's something Divac has no experience in.

Once PDA left, all we are hearing is PDA's spin on things and nothing to defend Vivek.

Everything I am seeing on Yahoo and such sites is that PDA "escaped" from the Kings.

Come on Kings, spin it to look like PDA being replaced and then leaving was a function of his incompetence.

Down here in Southern California, every article I see is about how PDA got hosed.

Denver is making PDA "Senior VP of Business and Team Operations" which might actually play to his strengths (business and logistics rather than personnel and general management). Although personally I would never want to hire someone with his degree of weaselness.

There have been significant changes in the PR department. What they're doing now - working with the local media - is exactly what they should be doing.

Well, I guess they could have just fired Mullin and PDA, but allowing them to move on was a kind move, even though the narrative moves from their incompetence to the Kings' instability. You can't have it both ways, I guess.
