i think the kings have a great shot at winning the division because the warriors, clippers, and the Lakers are really struggling. and looking at the kings schedule the have a chance of winning a few games in a row and getting back to the kings we expected at the start of the season. the warriors are gonna be on a three game road trip playing dallas houston and memphis so they are in big trouble and i think we will catch them. i think these injuries are probably a good thin because its showing us and the kings organization that kevin martin and fransisco are good players and will probably get more playing time. and hopefully with corliss playing more it will prove that he also needs to be playing more. GO KINGS!!!!!

I would like to join you in your optimisim, but you are forgetting about one team...Phoenix, who is currently in first in the division and within the next 2 months will get back a true super star in Stoudemire.

you forgot the phoenix suns, my friend. i doubt the kings can catch them. suns will win the division. if not.. im out $20

Yep Suns got us. - I'm hoping the last thing on the kings mind is winning the division...right now im cool with them just getting a playoff spot.

It is shaping up to be a fairly weak divison.... sadly, I think we are the weakest team among the bunch. Add to that our tendency to lose every key player to injury and you don't exactly have a division-winning recipe :)

Prediction:

1 - Suns
2 - Clippers
3 - Warriors
4 - Kings
5 - Lakers (hopefully them here, not us)

I'm not being pessimistic, just realistic.

Everyone has a winning record.....

besides the kings...

^and the Lakers are 15-14 and struggling methinks so I don't know how much longer they're gonna have a winning record.

Psshh...Lakers have the zen master....

But i hope that team fails miserably :D

Yeah everyone may have a winning record (except us), but none of the teams have really impressed me that much lately. Clippers have been in a slump, and Phoenix doesn't have Amare... I dunno, some solid teams, but no one that really stands out.

True- When the Suns get Amare back though...in addition to Mr. Jack of all trades (Boris) they are gonna be pretty deadly again...

even if he does come back hes only gonna be a shade of what he was last year. and if he does come back he might ruin their chemistry that they have rite now if he comes to early. sounds familiar to me.

0o0o0o very very interesting i never thought of it that way...OO OOO maybe it will make everyone in Phoenix anxious to trade him...and they will trade amare to us for williamson skinner and thomas!...hmm i dont think the suns would be that stupid though....

Phoenix is playing good defense. During their little skid, it was their offense that failed them. They had Barbosa and Jones out, not including Amare and Grant. Link to stats geek site, they are currently 2nd in league in defensive numbers, but only 6th in offense.

Ah your right Milles i edited for that...but even if thats the case it further proves my point of Phoenix handly taking the division

It's going to be intresting seeing how the Kings play now.. it's almost the same team from last year (bibby, miller,KT,peja, martin) thats going to be playing now (except for the bench).. maybe they might win a little more?

Talking about Phoenix - I would trade Bonzi and Peja talentwise to aquire a Boris Diaw. Statistically, he can fill a line in all areas - but it's the intangibles.

This guy is one of the prime reasons this team is succeeding without Amare. His on the court play is just lifting that team up and he's creating so many mismatches.

Plus --- he can play 5 dang positions.

I've always loved what he could bring to the game and knew that he'd do well once he left the Atlanta cesspool.

After winning a game in 6 games, the Kings instantly became a division contender? Wow. My sanity says no. But why not? :o No, no, no, I must be dreaming. Wake me up!

Give me a break, it's still december, this is not the time for thinking about the division title. How about starting off with another win considering we just lost six game in a row before snapping that streak and are dead last in the division. Besides, Suns are over six game ahead of us.

we lost five in a row not six even though thats not that much better. yea were six games behind but thats nothing in the NBA. all i said was the kings have a good shot at winning the division.

We have a good shot because we're last place in the division with 3 starters injured?

Hey...that may be WHY we HAVE a shot. They werent working together, plain and simple- no chemistry. Ironically maybe injured starters is what this team needs to find an identity, because Lord knows nothing else is working. As for the division winner comments, uhh, yea, lets try beating the knicks, bobcats, trailblazers, and rockets, before we even get on that conversation.

A good shot? I really don't know if you can go that far after one win.

A shot? Certainly, but not one I'd put money on right now and I'm one of the biggest Kings homers on the planet.

The team IS NOT GOOD right now. There will be flashes of good, and even flashes of very good. I would like to see people just accept the team for what it is right now - a team in transition. There are going to be changes made that will, hopefully, make us better.

Look at it this way. If you don't accept the bad, you won't be able to enjoy the good nearly as much.

;)

from espn.com - grades for every western confrence team. nothing new in the text, but it is somewhat noteworthy that we are the only team that recieved an F. Not saying it is not deserved, but those guys at espn.com really love us dont they.

SACRAMENTO KINGS (11-17)
Inside the record: The Kings are only 7-9 at Arco Arena, which used to be the toughest building in the league for opponents.

Most telling stats: Peja Stojakovic's scoring average is down four points, and only Minnesota is a worse offensive rebounding team.

Changes ahead? Stojakovic will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and Mike Bibby can opt out after 2006-07. One opposing Western Conference general manager said he believes Brad Miller will be available on the trade market.

The boss says: "Who are you going to bring in who's going to be better for you than Kenny [Thomas] and Corliss [Williamson]?" coach Rick Adelman told The Sacramento Bee after Shareef Abdur-Rahim had his jaw broken by Portland's Zach Randolph on Monday night. "We might bring in a player for practices' sake, but I don't think you're going to find somebody that's going to help you."

Trade asset: If Sacramento ever makes Stojakovic available, plenty of teams out there still believe in him. General manager Geoff Petrie usually gets an All-Star in return when he trades an All-Star, though he broke that trend with the Chris Webber deal.

Grade: F

That made me laugh, if we get an all-star for Peja ill shine Petrie's shoes.

why does everyone have the clippers so high??? they are the most overrated team in the league. they will still miss the playoffs, count on it.
