open letter to reggie theus

dear reggie

we have no chance of making playoffs, you know this. so here are a few suggestions on what u should do for the rest of this season and in the next few years

-BENCH MILLER, hes part of "rebuilding", neither is MIKKI.
-start spencer, thompson. 35+ minutes for both for the rest of the season
-give bobby brown more playing time when he is hot, if beno is having one of his good nights play beno. basically play whoever is playing good at the moment
-Convince Kings management to either draft(lotty pick) or trade for a DOMINANT player in the post(C or PF)
-establish a big 3 by 2010 and win a championship

I agree on most except for the dominant post player. There isn't one available. There doesn't seem to be one in the draft either.

Either we go for a lottery or we take the playoffs, what's important to give A LOT of minutes to the kids to boost up their confidence and speed up their learning. give Bobby J. 10mins only, same goes with Mikki. Coz they will never be part of the future. Bobby Jackson can live with playing just 10 mins. Why are you burning too much time (30+ mins.) on the old man even if you have a lot of young fresh legs. The same goes to Mikki, I don't think he'll mind sitting on the bench while earning million. Surely, it was like a lottery jackpot when the Kings spend MLE on him.

Hawes, Thompson, Greene will be a good frontline. Nevermind Greene looking lost on defense. The more he gets schooled on a real game, the faster he will learn.

Young guys learn coz they can always accept the fact that coaches have the right to scold them. But you kiss the *** of the vets that's why this team is never going to learn.

Salmons should be shipped while his hot. He will always be SG defense and offense wise.

Rest coming....

They need to start the chemistry of Hawes Thompson and Greene.. that line up is HUGE

give brad 20 mins a game OFF the bench give mikki 10

Salmons needs to be shipped while hot I agree with you there i say we get a quality defensive player

(This is more to the management & Reggie, not just Reggie alone)

1. Trade Brad Miller to a contender for either A) draft picks B) young players or C) expiring contracts (i'd love to get 2 or even 3 of 3). Brad is our most valuable asset at this point. He is a pretty established big man in the league and only has one year left on his contract after this one. Quite a few contenders would love to have him come playoff time, utilize this trading chip well Geoff!

2. Trade either John Salmons or Kevin Martin. We do not need Martin, Salmons, Cisco, and Greene all playing pretty much the same position. I'd rather keep Kevin (although I don't see him ever taking us to a title and could probably garner a lot more than John would in a trade, not to mention John is a better defender and makes less) but either one can go. Neither of these guys can be THE GUY on a championship team. They are both good sidekicks or #3 guys, but not superstars (ala CWebb).

3. Bench Mikki Moore indefinently. This guy DOES NOT ever need to play. Hawes & Thompson should take every single one of his minutes. He can't shoot, can't rebound, can't catch, can't pass, and occasionaly plays defense (but he's not very good at that either). Love the guy, but just can't even come close to comparing to Hawes & JT.

4. Make Bobby Brown the #1 guard coming off the bench. No more B-Jax. No more Douby. Play Bobby Brown, get him minutes, and look to say goodbye to Douby after the season.

5. Never ever ever under any circumstances play Sheldon Williams or Kenny Thomas. In fact, just don't even suit them up for games. If it gets to the point we'd ever need to put one of them in, we would have already lost the game already.

Follow these 5 steps and the Kings will hopefully be back in contention sometime soon.

I think it's pretty hard to dream up a scenario where trading Kevin Martin makes sense. He's not going to be the "it" guy on a championship team, but he represents something that's almost as hard to find. If you trade him, you're not going to get a young franchise player in return (at least not likely), and his efficient scoring makes him the perfect second guy (he does need to round out his game, however). Salmons is not that player, he simply consumes too much of our offense to be one. Cisco is an energy bench guy, and nobody really knows what kind of player Greene will become. In this group, the odd man out is salmons, especially since he needs to start to be effective. John really is the classic example of a decent player who's starts are inflated by playing on a bad team.

Haven't been following the past few games when Greene seems to have played more. How has he performed?

Like a rookie, but he's improving. He's rushing his shot and missing more than he makes by a large margin. He has good fourm and when he squares up he's a good shooter. He gets lost defensively at times, but he improved in the last game. He just needs experience. I would like to see him go to the boards more, and I would like to see him move without the ball a little more. All things in good time.
