One-Dollar Movies

My wife and I are having fun watching, or not watching, one-dollar movies from Wallmart. The Placerville Wallmart has a bin of old movie DVDs that cost only a dollar each. Some of them are complete crap, but it's fun trying to identify oldtime actors like Dennis Hopper, Elizabeth Taylor, and Basil Rathbone. They all looked different at age 20. Tonight we will watch some of "Dawn of the Living Dead". It is so old, I don't even remember the movie, just the recent parodies. Episodes of the "Cisco Kid" are next. Then maybe "Treasure Island" with Wallace Berry.

Blockbuster charges $4.25 to rent "non-current" movies.

Once you're done with them, QD, you might consider sending them overseas. I recently sent a box full of DVDs to a friend in Iraq. He really enjoyed them and now they're in the multi-media library for everyone to enjoy.

P.S. If you decide to do it, be sure and get the box from the Post Office you can fill up with whatever you like and then just pay $7.80 to mail. It's well worth it!!

I just bought some dvds from the dollar bin at Walmart. There were a bunch of stuff that the kids could watch so I bought a few: Andy Griffith show, Abbot & Costello's Jack and the Beanstalk, David Copperfield, Benji, etc. It surprised me to find some stuff I would watch. I figured most were stuff you couldn't sit through (which accounted for alot) but there were also alot that had the big stars in their first movies!
