I think we'd have to throw in one of the young guys to get it done.
we definetely agree on this topic...I do see Geoff making one more trade, for more muscle off the bench. Garcia might be audi before too long, I have a feeling...maybe with Corliss and draft picks, for a guy like Gadzuric...I would love to see that.VF21 said:I, in direct oppostion to nbrans, do not see Petrie pulling the trigger on a deal that sends Bonzi anywhere. At least not until he's seen how this new team has a chance to play together.
Bibby, Bonzi, Artest, SAR and Miller is a combination that could go far.
I seem them at least getting a chance to show what they can do. And considering the way the Maloofs have talked the past 24 hours, I don't see them overly concerned about the financial side of things as they currently stand. They've spent major bucks before and I honestly believe they're going to give this current assemblage a good chance before changing it.
If anything, one or more of the three flexible pieces might end up leaving for draft picks, pocket change or any offer they might be able to get...
Who would want him?? Even as trade fodder?? He's garbage, and I think probably every other team has noticed this, too.Diabeticwonder said:Somehow, GP has to throw Hart in a trade just to rid ourselves of him.

ditto. gotta do better than Jason Hart to get a guy like Evans.Bricklayer said:Er...hey hate to criticize as I'm down wiht that. But what possible excuse would Seattle have other than blatant incompetence?

The 'bench rotting' is definetely Adelman's biggest problem. Brian should be getting time, but SOMETHING is up between him and RA, because thats the only thing I can think of for why he's not getting PT. Brian brings it every time he's in...what freaking gives, Rick?SacTownKid said:I don't know Reggie requested a trade and they don't want him. He makes soo little that they couldn't get much for him. Maybe its possible.
The only problem I have is that Rick Adelman would probably walk out the door because these aren't exactly "Rick Adelman" players we've been picking up lately.
Another thing I want to mention, BTW I don't see the Brian Skinner thread on the board anymore, I would hope that Petrie has plans on moving some of the pieces we seldom use. Better than letting them rot on the bench.
SLAB said:According to RealGM, Reggie Evans has a trade restriction.
"Trade Restriction because the player signed a 1 year contract in which they will be a Bird or Early Bird player at the end of the contract"
Hmmm...Is there a way around that?
Slowly but surely we are starting to resemble the Chicago Bulls team of 2001-2002 if we have that front line. Now all we have to do is get Eddy Curry and bring Ron Mercer back from whatever he is doing now.nbrans said:Here's a way to get Tyson Chandler to Sacramento this season. It's majorly complicated by the fact that he's a base year player. I won't get into the specifics because they make my head hurt, but basically both the Kings and Chicago would have to dump salary onto a third party to make it happen. This trade works on RealGM.
Kings send Kenny Thomas and Francisco Garcia to Chicago
Kings send Jason Hart to Atlanta
Chicago sends Tyson Chandler to Sacramento
Chicago sends Eric Piatkowski (expiring contract) and 1st round pick to Atlanta
The Kings would get one of the top defensive interior big men in the league, albeit one who looks comatose this season and has a massive contract.
Chicago gets a solid starting power forward, and rid themselves of Tyson Chandler's contract, although Kenny's contract is no peach. They also get Francisco Garcia, would finally give them a properly-sized shooting guard.
Atlanta gets a point guard, an expiring deal and a 1st round pick for basically nothing.
In this scenario, I'd absolutely advocate starting Chandler at the 4 alongside Miller, and bring SAR off the bench. The main question mark of this deal is whether Chicago would give up their only Center. It's doubtful, but their season isn't really going anywhere and they could free up some space to go after Ben Wallace in the offseason.
Your new Kings:
Bibby, Bonzi, Artest, Chandler, Miller

I just have doubts its possible to acheive.
Rowdyone said:A cheaper, albeit more risky, alternative to Chandler would be one of the Raptors young big men. They've got a slew of them. My first choice would be Villanueava but Bonner's numbers look good and Sow, though foul prone, is a shot blocking rebounder...just up our alley. Not sure what they would want in return since they have a max roster with players equal to the ones we would willingly part with. But, with a new GM, looking to make his bones and turn things around GP might be able to pick his pocket as part of his learning curve.
Rowdyone said:After checking Realgm I think one scenario would be Bonzi to Raptors for Alvin Williams and Villenueava giving us a starting young PF and a backup 6'5" point guard (although he's been hurt I think). Toronto does it to get a quality SG since they will be losing Jalen Rose and don't have a replacement. Would prefer not to lose Bonzi but swing men are much easier to obtain than good young PF's.
PejaHoops16 said:How about Brian Skinner, Kenny Thomas, and a future 1st or 2nd round pick for Tyson Chandler + filler from the Bulls.
nbrans said:I really don't think the Kings could get Chandler without giving up Garcia or Martin. And since they are already going to have a really high draft pick from New York and have so many young players now, a draft pick isn't going to be that appealing to them.
However, this trade works: Skinner, Thomas and Garcia for Chandler, Malik Allen and Piatkowski (expiring).
New Kings:
PG: Bibby, Hart (ugh), Price
SG: Bonzi, Martin
SF: Artest, Corliss
PF: Chandler, SAR
C: Miller, Sampson
New Bulls:
PG: Hinrich, Duhon
SG: Garcia, Gordon
SF: Deng, Nocioni
PF: Thomas, Harrington
C: Sweetney, Skinner
Inactive list. That is the easiest solution.VF21 said:Whatever it takes, we have to move Jason Hart.
