Oh Oh Trouble in the Making ? Owens Could be A Raider

Raiders | Looking to Acquire Owens?

WPVI.com reports there is some speculation the Philadelphia Eagles could trade WR Terrell Owens to the Oakland Raiders for WR Jerry Porter. If the trade were to occur, the Raiders would have two of the best wide receivers in the NFL: Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Moss told reporters Wednesday, June 29, he could co-exist with Owens as long as he got the number of passes he deserves.

Well, i dont know about this, i would love to have the best WR combo in NFL history... but only if they can accept thier roles... but all speculation as of right now...

You can't give both of them the number of passes they want without being predictable. If you chuck it at em all the time D's will know you're looking to pass a lot and will adjust to that. Plus their egos will clash at some point, its inevitable.

I dont think thier gonna chuck alot after they paid Lamont Jorden some 28 million dollars, but they can thrive off each other, you cannot simply adjust to the two best WR's in football...

If they could work together and accept a sort of role playing as both being go-to guys, it could make Kerry Collins look like an NFL quarterback and make the Raiders one of the best offensive teams in the league. Except they can't work together. So this would be a trainwreck.

I'm not so sure that Owens and Moss couldn't play together. Moss stretches the field and Owens is at his best on short to intermediate routes where he can break them for big gains.

Not to mention that the Raiders D is still very weak, likely including some rookie DBs. That means that the offense will be on the field fairly often and need to put up a lot of points to win.

Of course, I'm not so sure that Turner is the right coach for such an explosive passing attack.

Plus, as a Niner fan, if it doesn't work the drama will be fun to watch.

Nothing I'd like better than a train wreck in the Raider Nation.

;)

Bahaha Haters, you would love it but it wont happen, they will feed off each other and destroy any defense they play... i hope this because true !

^^^ Moss, maybe. I was mixed on Owens when he left the Niners, as the franchise was obviously falling apart and the team was going nowhere, so him leaving was understandable. Now, though, I have no doubt that Owens cannot help any team win. He is officially a cancer of the worst kind and could not stand to be on the same team as Moss.

...which just struck me with a thought. What if the Eagles are entertaining this trade to scare TO into thinking that if he doesn't sign on he'll be dealt to a team where he won't be a clear-cut number one? That might give him enough incentive to come back and play instead of being childish and sitting out. It could easily work, and it would be genius on the part of the Eagles organization, whatever the outcome.

That would be entertaining -- either the most devastating pair of WRs in history to opponents, or the most devastating pair of WRs in history to their own team. ;)

But if I'm the Raiders I pursue greatness without a second thought and cross my fingers.
As an aside, you could easily get both guys 90+ passes, especially since it would be virtually impossible to double both of them and on any given play one or the other is only going to have one man to beat.

1. I am not a "hater." I am really tired of that phrase.

2. Your team sucks.

....

Thank you.

Cornerback is a very tough position to play, and most teams don't have two good ones. Either Moss or Owens will usually be matched up against some random warm body. Scary.

Or we could just pick any cornerback and refer to him as a shutdown corner to join Champ in the ranks of grossly overrated players. It's probablier easier and legaler than cloning Champ anyways.

raiders would be smart if they pulled this off.... but than only in Oakland would they let those 2 do their own thing.... the only problem would be splitting the catches between the two.......
