Official Thread for whining star players who don't get T'd (Merged)

Aight. Don't know if this'll be a success or not, but it's a good time to start before we forget what's already happened. I guess the purpose of this would be to have the info handy for later in the year and gauge how strict the refs continue to be and how the players are reacting to it. Try to be as descriptive as possible. If you see a lame T (even if the player isn't ejected), include that too.

--------------

PRESEASON: Brian Cook T'd for throwing ball against basket stand after a whistle and ejected for throwing his hands up while seated on the court in reaction to a no-call.

11/1 - Sheed (vs MIL) T'd for complaining and ejected for getting verbal with Villanueva after a hard foul. The comment was, "Watch them elbows, young boy! You know me... You know me..."

11/1 - Bibby (vs MIN) T'd for complaining and ejected for supposedly using profanity towards a ref.

11/2 - Melo (vs LAC) T'd for complaining and ejected for throwing his headband (along with more complaints) after a call against him.

Good thread idea. I don't usually have much to say on this subject, other than the players need to keep their pipes closed more...

That being said, the refs are WAY TOO STRICT this year and all the ejections and new rules are really taking away from the flow and fast paced fun of the game. I really enjoy basketball because it is so exciting - back and forth, you know.

It's not fun when there is a whistle after every play and the whole clear lane foul... Well, just please.

i don't think bibby used profanity (at least he said he didn't).

the last move that earned him that T was that swing of the arm as if to say "that's BS!" I would guess he said something while doing it, but he said he didn't say anything. so i guess the flinging arm got him that 2nd T?

Maybe we also need a thread for who should have been T'd up in a game according to the "new rules" and wasn't.

Garnett
Wallace

Official Thread for whining star players who don't get T'd by double standard refs.

I thought of starting this thread which we can keep throughout the season for kings opponents who complain but don't get T'd by refs.

Let me start by adding:

1) KG (11/1/06)
2) Ben Wallace (11/3/06)

(Please update this coz, I don't have league pass and sadly can't watch all the games.)

Thread for whining star players

Sam Cassell 11-1
Steve Nash 11-1 (yelling at ref that he made the wrong call on a deflection-ref changed call (Nash was correct).

How about a thread that tabulates every time a ref makes a questionable call and a Kings player takes it like a man, keeps his head in the game and moves on? Or would that be too much to ask?

You can be annoyed with inconsistant calls without supporting whiny Kings players.

Not liking the special treatment star players tend to get in this league doesnt go hand in hand with supporting a Kings player every time he complains about a call.

Melo did get ejected the other night though, and he could be considered a star (although not quite on the level of Wade, LeBron, Kobe)....Then again if he was playing against the Kings I'm sure he wouldnt have gotten T'd up :p

Just great an entire thread for whining posters to cry about how unfair the NBA refs are in enforcing the no whiining rule? (More Irony thicker than Mike Tyson's skull) Why do I forsee having to close this one down in the near future?

I've moved this to the NBA forum. I have a bad feeling about how it's going to end up but for now I'll just ask people to NOT turn it into a bash of Kings players.

Thanks.

That is kinda funny

Very notable one yesterday was when Mike, some plays after getting a T, got another bizarre call against him, and he just SHUT UP. didn't even talk to the officials. even grant commented on it. he didn't bother talking to the refs. I liked that. Definitely need to do it more. I hope he has learned his lesson that refs are gonna be strict with this rule... if your name ain't KG, Kobe, etc... ;)

If the refs aren't consistent, this is never gonna work. Like or or not, Complaining DOES influence the refs (even if just a tiny amount). It will place just a tiny bit of doubt in their minds even if they are %90 sure of a call, and add a tad bit of extra guilt in their minds when they knew they probably made a bad call.

The refs have to at least crack down by the same ratio on the superstars, as the scrubs. Everyone knows that the Stars already get more lenience, but from what I have seen so far this year, the underlings are getting the majority of these new "Crackdown" calls.

I think it'll speed up again as the season goes on. They might just be setting the standard early here for people to follow in the future.

Mite as well, Celt. It's already gone down in flames.

Watch out for chunks of the sky dropping on your head tongiht -- an NBA player just actually admitted that a technical was warranted:

Morrison was called for a technical, the first of his NBA career, for arguing a call in the third quarter. "It was warranted," he said. "He said `You can't use swear words,' and I said `You're right."' ...

You'll learn kid. You'll learn. ;)
