NYDaily: Kings to Anaheim?

Anaheim sounds good to me

I would love to see the kings move to SO cal lol. I am from stockon, but I go to school in the Paseadena area and Anaheim is 45 mi naway... i would go to every game lol. I love the organization... location means nothing to me. Though it would be wierd to see a new name on the jerseys... possibly new colors... but the city works for me!

The Indian casinos were interested, but not in a "gift." It would have to be a loan. A loan means debt payments. The Indians would have to know how their debt would be repaid. In essence, its the same problem with the Maloofs going to the bank and borrowing money. The franchise cannot afford the required debt service. Yes, "private owner" financing means they would have to borrow money, same as all their other businesses. And I'll guarantee you the Palms is waaayyy more profitable than the skin-of-their-teeth Kings.

Aerojet is here... although I'm not sure how much publicity they really need...

"Aerojet, the official rocket engine of the Sacramento Kings!"

Kenny Thomas: "When I'm on the court, I have to be quick off the ground. When I'm off the court, I use Aerojet for all my propulsion needs."

Probably not viable.

Maybe Aerojet-General Corp would cut a deal with the State of California. The State Water Resources Control Board and the Department of Toxics Substances Control would close the books on Aerojet's environmental issues, then the company would build Sacramento a new $400,000,000 arena. Sounds like a fair trade for me. As they admonish in Mexico, "Just don't drink the water."

Aerojet has had a luxury suite at Arco since it opened...

...until this year.

Southwest, Aerojet, ???. It looks like things are going in the wrong direction here.

I really don't see how this gets built in the city of Sacramento. If it gets done I think it will be West Sac, Roseville, Elk Grove, Folsom, something like that. Right now if I had to bet I'd say it's 60-40 in favor of them leaving. There's just no sense of urgency out there.

I think it might end up being easier for Kings fans who aren't in the Sacramento area to continue to be their fans if they move. It's like Slim - he has no vested interest in where the team actually calls home.
Maybe, but I live in Sacramento and while I'd like them to stay, I'll still follow them with great interest if they go elsewhere.

Hell, people follow their college teams after they move far away from their college or whatever. I don't see much difference.

It's interesting how these corporate sponsors are walking away from their luxury boxes and sponsorship deals, yet the maloofs think they're gonna sell even more of these at a higher price in a new arena? No matter how luxurious/tempting these suites might be, they're gonna come up against companies needing to justify the expense.

I am mystified by the apparent lack of action on the parts of Sacramento residents on this issue. The Sacramento public and local media has been silent. I e-mailed Channel 31 on the issue and of course thaty did not return my e-mail. I guess Good Day Sacramento is real busy visiting local restuarants and interviewing garage mechanics.
