Do you guys think we might use Vasquez in a trade package and try too sign another PG? Cause originally we wanted Calderon first and too trade Grieves right? We might get more value out of Grievas if we package him wit IT, JT, absorbtion of cap.. ect ect
Edit: also ive been on kingsfans.com for 16 hours today, forgive me if im asking dumb questions.
Monta lol
im gonna paste what i wrote in the trade thread
LOL if PDA signs Monta, im going nerd bashing in sacramento.
Just because the Kings wanted Calderon instead of Vasquez doesn't mean they don't want Vasquez at all.
Turnovers mean little by itself. If you think high turnovers make you inherently bad go look up the leaders in turnovers.
of course the people passing the ball the most are at risk to have the most turnovers. just saying its something to keep an eye on.
No, it isn't. Not by itself.
I will join youI'm all for watching what the FO does now, but there are certain lines that they should simply not cross. Monta Ellis is one of them.

I am not going to lie, when we draft MLM I was pretty pissed because people were already naming Evans the PG and that was the last place I wanted Evans.
Then the Iggy talks heated up and I figured that putting Iggy with Evans could be a good thing.
Then the Iggy thing fell through and we were back to Evans at PG with nobody else to help handle the ball. Recipe for offensive disaster imo.
All the while we are trying to figure out which player can play with Evans (very short list of players that might have been available).
Then this whole Greivis thing comes up and the clouds part because rather than looking for pieces to fit we can just plug and play. I have always said about a good passing PG is that you really don't have to find players that fit next to them because if that PG knows what the players are going to do before they do it then he'll have no problem getting them the ball to score. Guys wont stand around if they know they can get easy buckets if they move.
there are a lot of players that pass the ball alot, and average 9 or more assists. and they do it without setting a franchise record for turnovers. just sayin

No, there aren't.
1. True.1: just had double Ankle surgery. maybe it was minor, still something to watch
2:even our own Front Office didnt want him in this trade! they wanted to sign Calderon and send Vasquez somewhere else in a 3 team trade. that raises red flags
3: He was the floor leader of a team that won 27 games last season. (which kills the argument of the people saying we couldnt win 30 games with Tyreke)
4: He set a franchise record last year for Turnovers.
5: the fact that New Orleans was willing to ship out a potential talent like Nerlins Noel, to replace Vasquez (Holliday) raises some HUGE red flags in my mind

Obviously this is to be taken with a grain of salt, but does anyone else remember how crazy about vasquez Jerry Reynolds was near the end of the season? He was caught several times saying things along the lines of "there aren't many point guards in the league who are better than this guy." He also said he thought he was the most underrated player in the league. Am I the only one that remembers this?
So much for "certain posters" actually doing their research before posting incorrect "facts," huh??? Hardly surprising.
I remember Reynolds gushing about Vasquez several times last season as well. I think he also said something along the lines that GV was one of most improved players in the league which turned out to be true in the voting. Hopefully, Vasquez keeps on improving because at this point he's very good but not nearly as good overall as Evans.
I don't know about that. I'm a known supporter of pass first point guards; so obviously I'm a bit biased, but if you're saying Evans overall game is better I would have to disagree. Guards today need to have a good mid range game IMO, and what killed me about Tyreke even more than his poor jump shooting was his lack of a mid range game. Vasquez right now has one of the best floaters in the league and he's been known to hit the Curry scoop on occasion. He can shoot the three, (Not the best, I know) get to the rim, and he actually has very fast hands on defense much like Rubio. I think many people will be surprised at how big of an impact he has on this team immediately. This isn't to say I dislike Tyreke, but I don't believe he was the right fit for this team at this time.
