No Defense

Mike Bibby does not play any defense and it has come back to haunt us. he left damon jones open all night and then he left damon jones open for what would be the eventual game winning three pointer. what is so hard about staying in front of your man, putting your hand in his face, enen fouling from time to time. something needs to be done about his defensive liability, same goes for the rest of the team, especially after you give up a 19-point lead at home and a 12-point lead at home.

Actually, while the general statement is true, on the game winner Laetner set a good pick to slow Bibby down and free Damon up. Not sure whether it was a good enough pick to stop a top defensive PG, but it was a good one off of a designed play.

Ugh, I am so disgusted by even thinking about the heat right now... and for the Kings to blow a 17 and 12 point lead, and leaving jones open for 3's, that's what came back to haunt us. Sigh.

I guess you have tp pick your poison the doubles down low on shaq and then the slow rotation out to the shooter,he could have stayed home that last time I would have rather gave up a 2 than a 3.

Bibby will start to play better D when the playoffs start. He always plays better then.

He needs to play better D now. Winning games against top teams in the NBA will give us confidence later in the year when we play teams like this.

Had DC been in the game, things might have been different. I suspect RA might have put him in and pulled Bibby at the end for defense, but we'll never know.

It's our third loss this month. I can live with three losses a month. AND I think there were two pivotal points - one, when Brad had to go in for an extended period to get 15 STITCHES in his leg and two, when DC was ejected over that ridiculous double-technical. Talk about fastest whistle in the west. I don't think either player should have recieved a T. I think the official was whistle-happy and I hope he chokes.

DC was having his own problmes on defense tonight. Suspect he would have been in, but for Evans unfortuantely. That ejection may have actually helped us int his one.

Yeah VF21, losing 3 so far this month is good, but when we play top teams like the Heat, and lose to them, especially at ARCO... I just hate it when we lose at ARCO to teams like the Heat. The game really annoyed me tonight. But I agree with you, without bojax, Christie and Miller injured, it really hurt us tonight.

I was really impressed by Evans though, 12 pts, 8 rebs(7 offensive), 1 ast, 1 stl, 25 mins, and man can he play defence, he was playing great defence the whole game, I would like to see Evans get about 20 mins a game.

but thats the problem. we cant rely on DC to play all of our defense all of the time because there's going to be times when he is not on the floor and thats when the team as a whole needs to step up and fill in that defensive void

the whole team needs to play better defense.

man i really wanted this win. it would have shut all the critics up, and it would be a win against a contender ( we've had a grand total of one so far) i'll just have to wait till next time.

Yea, but Bibby could at least contested Damon Jones shot. Bibby doesn't even put his damn hands up to anyone (which frustrates me). Why doesn't the coaching staff help him get better defensively?

Two of those 3 losses came from teams above .500. Right now, I'm beginning to wonder if the Kings can win a good team.

He didn't even put his hands up it was a very lazy defensive play,he played lazy on D the entire night,he really look not interested in playing defense this game.

the coaching staff can only help his defensive game so much. defense is fueled mainly off of desire and in some circumstances, cannot be taught, but developed
