nice stretch of rest coming up

Entity

Hall of Famer
We only have 6 games in the next 19 days. That will give us plenty of rest and practice time to look at film and work on some mistakes we make and other things to improve on what we do well. Those 6 games consist of only 1 team that I would consider a very good team right now. Mil, LAL, NO, Was, Mia, and GS. Miami is the only one that we should have a hard time against. Oh yeah Mil is the only game on the road so you are looking at 16 days in Sacramento.

Talking about looking at film and working on some mistakes, I have a sneaking suspicion we might just start the New Year with one more player on our roster...

Championship

We gotta do something, that game in Minni our bench was kinda exposed a little, and they didn't even play that bad! Against these deep teams in the West, come playoff time were gonna need at least one more gun off the bench. Injury is a concern in a 7 game series, but at this point so is foul trouble! We got time but we have to improve, and we will.

Who might that be VF? Have i missed something related to a free agent pick-up or trade?
I don't know, Entity. I haven't heard anything specific. I'm just saying that I'm sure it's something Petrie has been addressing and this relaxed schedule over the holidays might be the perfect time to bring someone in and get them acclimated to our system without a lot of games bunched close together.

I DO know we need to fill that spot with someone WITH EXPERIENCE who can come off the bench and fill in. If that person was a veteran player like Eduardo Najera, for example, who can actually play at the 2, 3 or 4, it would be perfect.

Darius is fully adequate at the 4, but I cannot see him playing small forward or 2 guard, both of which Najera has been known to play when necessary. I'm thinking what we need to fill the last slot is someone who won't get many minutes, but will be able to step in at any of the swing slots. A veteran who has experience, knows he's on the downside, etc. and just wants a last chance to contribute to a winning effort.

Hey, if I'm gonna dream, it's gonna be in technicolor.

Najera can play shooting guard? Wow, I haven't been watching enough GS games lately.
Same here. I've seen him play some-albeit little-SF...even C, but mostly at the PF is where he's made his living.

When all you really do is thug arround and get boards you can prety much be equaly effective at any position. It's when you utalize more spesific skills such as pass, shoot, post up that your skills didctate position more rigoriously.

we need a rebounding & hustle monster. more energy off the bench. someone in the likes of Dennis Rodman--things that he brings into games minus the antics & distractions.

Wizards are looking tough right now. so i'd say Miami & Washington pose a better challenge than the other teams we'll be playing.

We are by far our toughest opponent.

Well, my face is red. I meant to say 3, 4 and 5 - considering I've used him in each of those slots on my fantasy team. In my comments above, please substitute "center" for 2 guard. ;) Although that doesn't make sense, either - because Darius could, in a pinch, possibly play center. Ah crap...

I do think someone LIKE Najera could be helpful. He's not afraid to body up on someone and he'll go to the floor, even after his knee surgery, for the ball. Those attributes are valuable - especially to the Kings.

Nah, we're not jealous. We steal quotes from each other with NO twinges of remorse around here...

Sometimes, I don't even know why I go there.
:D

I'm down with Mad's whip -- kind of putting the kink into the dog. Unless of course you wanted to go all Freud on my choice of a big ole Bat, in which case you might say its always been there. ;) :D
