I was reading some of the Cleveland papers this morning. I always like to read what the team we just played writes about the game. Anyway one article was about Malone and Brown and Jarrrett Jack made the below comments I thought I would share to those that may not have read it.
Cavs guard Jarrett Jack was with Malone in Golden State and loved working with him.
"Tremendous, somebody who pushed me every day, never let me settle,'' Jack said. "He was a brilliant basketball mind. Him being around the game from such a young age with his dad, he knew how to relate to players. He treated you like a man but also still gave you criticism whenever necessary. … I have a lot of close, personal friends on Sacramento, and since they've been under his tutelage they say he's been nothing but a joy to play under. … The thing I liked about him was he didn't pull any punches. He treated everybody the same. If you were somebody in the wrong, he was going to let you know.''
How did Jack know Malone would become a head coach?
"I think you just see it,'' he said. "Me being with him, the trust factor that the head coach had in him in certain instances. … I think he's a proven commodity. He's come from different places and has been that right-hand man to every head coach he's been around. I think that speaks volumes as well.
