I think the home field and bye will help a lot. There might be an upset (Baltimore maybe??) but none that I would pick for sure so I'm going with all the higher seeds.

After going 1-3 in round one, I think there's nowhere to go but up in this one.

Baltimore at Tennessee
I was dead wrong about the Ravens vs. Dolphins, because my whole reason for picking Miami is that they wouldn't turn the ball over to a team that thrives on turnovers. I'm not picking the Ravens in this one just because they burned me last week, but because even if Flacco plays terribly, this defense can still win the game for them. And despite his resurgence this season, Kerry Collins is still turnover prone, and I predict the Titans will fall behind in this one and he'll have to throw more than 25 times in this one and will cough it up once or twice. And the rookie will play better this week than last. [Edit: Kevin Mawae (Tennessee's Pro Bowl center) has been ruled out of the game. That's going to hurt the Titans as much as any other single injury could.]
Ravens over Titans, 20-10

Arizona at Carolina
Kurt Warner looked good last week, and so did the Cardinals rushing game. The Panthers are a better defense than the Falcons, even though they've had their hiccups from time to time this season. Add to that the fact that the Cardinals went 3-5 and got outscored 185-248 on the road this season, and that they couldn't run or stop the run in a 27-23 loss in Carolina in October, and I think they'll hit a similar wall in this one against the big play running game of the Panthers.
Panthers over Cardinals, 27-13

Philadelphia at NY Giants
Nothing impressive about the Eagles against the Vikings, aside from one big play on offense. Can't get too excited about picking off Tarvaris Jackson and taking it too the house. I'm not convinced that they can make the plays they need against one of the biggest and most physical defenses in the NFL, especially not on the road. I'm assuming Eli Manning doesn't make silly mistakes and give the game away, and if he doesn't, the Giants should win easily.
Giants over Eagles, 31-17

San Diego at Pittsburgh
If you're looking for a good offensive game, this probably isn't it. I'm expecting both QBs to play poorly, and I don't see the running games being particularly effective. But seeing as how Rivers got sacked four times by the Colts, I think the Steelers defense dominates and even puts a touchdown on the board in this one. The Chargers have a chance if they can gradually wear down the Steelers by winning the field position battle and chipping away little by little, but I think the crowd will prompt some costly penalties and long third downs, and the weather will prompt some turnovers.
Steelers over Chargers, 27-14

Carolina ALL over Arizona

Tennessee over Baltimore

Pittsburgh over San Diego

*upset special* Philadelphia over New York

Baltimore at Tennessee - I like how both of these teams are built. The last couple of years I've said to myself at the beginning of the season that Baltimore would win the Superbowl, and they either missed the playoffs or lost. I wanna say Baltimore again here, but with a rookie QB, I'm looking for Tennessee to move on. Titans 24-13

Arizona at Carolina - I think Arizona lucked out by getting the Falcons in the first round. Any other team and they would have lost IMO. Carolina easily takes down Arizona. Panthers 31-10

Philadelphia at New York - I really think this is going to be a great game. I see the Eagles bringing their A-game to New York. I don't see the Giants repeating this year, but they'll squeak by the Eagles in a game that's gonna go right down to the wire. Giants 28-24

San Diego at Pittsburgh - It seems nobody is giving the Chargers a chance in this one. If they don't turn the ball over, I can see them having a chance, because I really liked the effort last week. But man, do they ever miss Shawn Merriman... Being a fan, I have to think optimistic and pick the Chargers to win. Chargers 17-13

DIVISIONAL ROUND

RAVENS AT TITANS
-I think it will be a very physical game. Both teams are going to have to run the ball to win. However, it's going to come down to which quarterback doesn't make mistakes. The wily vet Kerry Collins, or the young rook Flacco?
--My money is on the Ravens. They're simply playing too well right now, and in this case - the week off actually hurt the Titans more than helped.

WINNER: RAVENS
------------

CARDINALS AT PANTHERS
-This one might get ugly. The Panthers are just simply very good at home, and well the Cards just aren't good away from Arizona. To win, the Cards are going to have to have HUGE days drom the defensive line and rush defense - and quite frankly - I just think the Panthers running game is simply too good.

WINNER: PANTHERS
------------

EAGLES AT GIANTS
-IMO, the game of the week. Simply due to the fact that they know each other so well. 3rd meeting this year alone, division rivals. I'm excited for this game simply because I'm a NFC East fan.
The Eagles are playing very well, and very confidently. And when they are confident, they are very good. My gut says go Eagles. But my brain says go Giants. In this case, I listen to my brain - simply because they are the champs.

WINNER: GIANTS
------------

CHARGERS AT STEELERS
-I was thinking as Darren Sproles ran into the end zone last Saturday that the Bolts have what it takes to make a run to Tampa. Then on Sunday, I believed this as well. But then, I got a good night's sleep and Monday came. The Chargers are the hottest team in the league, but not the best. If this was in San Diego - they win, probably going away. But Pittsburgh is one of the toughest, if not THE TOUGHEST place to play in football. And the real San Diego Chargers (the 4-8 version) will show up.

WINNER: STEELERS
-----------

RECAP:

Baltimore Ravens 13
Tennessee Titans 12

Carolina Panthers 41
Arizona Cardinals 18

New York Giants 17
Philadelphia Eagles 12

Arizona rocked Carolina! I am very surprised how they dominated them on both sides of the ball. Kurt Warner , when he gets protection, is still one of the best QB'S around. He looks like a young stud. Awesome receivers always helps!

Happy Birthday Jake D;)

jake delhomme for MVP. Man the cardinals? The freakin cardinals!? Hosting the NFC championship game!? Wow I cannot believe this crap.

Well looks like I was right with my upset prediction. And I still believe the titans should have won pretty easily.

I was 1-3 to start and now 2-2 this weekend. Next week, I need to be 2-0 to at least feel good for a change. I'm probably going to stay on the Ravens bandwagon and I'm still skeptical about Donovan McNabb - that he can have three top flight playoff games in a row on the road. I need to see all the injury updates before final picks though.

The NFL continues to get weirder and weirder. I thought parity was strange to see. But now, the 11-5 Pats are not in it. The Cardinals and Eagles, who 6 weeks ago, many said neither had a chance -- are the final 2 in the NFC! It just gets harder and harder to predict every year.

But if I didn't believe it before, I certainly do now -->> Larry Fitzgerald may be the best WR in the NFL.

kingsnation;594202 But if I didn't believe it before said:
Fitzgerald is truly amazing, but I would only change one thing. Not best in NFL, but certainly in the NFC. Best in the NFL is Andre Johnson IMO - whose stats are quite a bit better and he got 45 out of possible 50 votes for All Pro NFL Wide Receiver this season. White Fitzgerald is a big, tall, and fast wide out - AJ is quite a bit bigger, an inch taller, and reportedly faster. Both have excellent hands, but Johnson generally sees a lot more double coverage. I think I'll pick the Cards if Antoine Bolton is ready to go next Sunday so Fitzgerald won't have to worry about as many double teams up against that smothering Eagles D.

That had absolutely nothing to do with the Titans actually losing the game to the Ravens with their bone crushing D and rookie sensation QB, Joe "Cool" Flacco. The horrible turnovers by Collins and Tennessee was THE REASON they lost to an extremely HOT Baltimore team. This constant bitching about officials is starting to tick me off as it's never-ending juvenile whining IMO. Kind of like Brad Miller crying every single time to the official on a so-called bad call. NFL officials are the best in all pro sports and like any sport make some errors - but VERY-VERY few. Thank god, the great coach of the Titans Jeff Fisher is not trying to use it as a excuse for their loss 13-10 loss. BTW, I predicted Baltimore would win 13-12 so I feel good about that one considering my rather dismal record otherwise.

Yep we agree on this one. The NFL refs are THE very best in sports, and ever since Ed Hocheli (sp?) had his two worst games of his otherwise great career, people are nitpicking looking for anything to make excuses for their play.

You know how many bad calls there have been in the past like missed play clocks?

Shoot, I remember back in 1999? 2000? maybe... The Seahawks were actually left out of the playoffs because the refs said that Vinny Testaverde of the Jets scored a Touchdown.. In actuality, his helmet crossed the plain -- the ball and no other part of his body did.

I'm actually rooting for a Ravens-Cardinals Super Bowl.

I'm actually rooting for a Ravens-Cardinals Super Bowl.

Count me in as hoping for Cardinals v Ravens in this years Super Bowl. I just don't like McNabb very much. Both his personality and skills as an inconsistent QB. He's pretty good as they say, but certainly not a great NFL QB. That stunt of picking up the phone on the Giants sideline during the game and getting a penalty was juvenile bush league - what a role model pro performer. I hope NFL fines him for it as well.

Kurt Warner on the other hand is a pros pro and at 37 just damn remarkable all season long. I told a buddy of mine (a big Titans fan) early this season that I'd rather have Warner than 36 year old battle scared Kerry Collins BY FAR. Kurt is a great NFL QB, former league MVP and hopefully he and his team dispose of Philly. Speaking of Philly, didn't those baseball Phillies just win the World Series - jinx, no jinx? Maybe the ultimate jinx would be if the Eagles got to the Super Bowl in Tampa this year with some kind of jinx finally rising up being it's the home of those Rays that the Phillies disposed of.

Since I haven't mentioned Pittsburgh I must say I do respect their solid coaching staff, that tremendous D, the courage and skill of Big Ben, and lastly the determination of big play, awesome possession receiver Hines Ward. But Baltimore's Joe Flacco has me currently going WOW - am I seeing the next Joe Montana - I mean seriously! Still, with all this said odds makers are predicting a Philadelphia-Pittsburgh all Pennsylvania Super Bowl.

I don't care which team is in the Superbowl. I am so glad that San Diego and NY Giants are out of it. I can't stand Eli Manning or Philip Rivers.
