NFL 2025-2026 Thread

Our secondary is actually playing pretty well, despite what divac thinks.

The OL is an utter mess. I see the same regression from Puni, dude had one play where he got absolutely pancaked into a Mac Jones sack.

Overall though, kind of hard to really judge this team fairly. We're just missing all our key cogs in every facet of the game, for a majority of the season.

The offense is mostly playing pretty damn well though. If/when the entire starting skill position crew gets back, we should be in contention for one of the better offenses in football. And going to need it since shoot-outs are going to be the only way for this team to win.

I thought the secondary started the year looking good, sans Green, but the last two weeks have been really bad. Stafford threw it all over them and Mayfield did the same the second Warner went out. The only real stop they had was due to Mayfield throwing it behind his receiver on back to back plays. Luck basically.

Most of the guys are young so it's to be expected but it's still a concern. They certainly aren't getting much help from the DLine with Bosa out. 5 games in and they have 7 sacks. Take out Bosa's and they're only averaging 1 per game. They also haven't had an interception since Nixon was in office.

I haven't looked recently, but their coverage statistics (for whatever that's worth) down the line were all pretty good at one point this season. The lack of pass rush is certainly affecting them though, doesn't matter if you have prime Richard Sherman back there, if nobody is getting to the QB.

And losing Bosa/Warner are obviously soul-crushing but a good chunk of our D-Line depth (Matos/Givens/Davis) have all missed most of the season too. Which, I think was projected to be our starting D-Line to begin the year.

Just need to be in range of the playoffs when the offensive skill-position guys get back. Mac buying us 3 wins gives us that chance, but eventually, the talent gap of not having any of our starting skill position+QB is going show up on the field.

This team (especially this year) isn't a shootout team under Shanahan (none of them have been) - Shanahan likes a clock control run team that manages to move the ball enough to resign to lots of FGs - ok if your defense is up for it - but no longer.....now that their defense is more exposed to the run with a poor secondary, the wheels are coming off......

Alot of parity in the league this season - some of the teams that were faltering earlier are starting to rise up......I couldn't tell you whose in the Superbowl right now with much degree of certainty....generally teams better start f#$%^n playing better vs the Chiefs (aka the new Patriots). or they may just fill the void again.....
