ESPN article says he had to turn in his guns back in February for an incident where they thought he would hurt himself. It was a sealed document at the time.

Seems like the 9ers are happy the direction they went?
Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers. The NFL is vastly different from the NBA in terms of playoff windows. For example, Harden was with the Rockets for 8 years. It's arguable that the last 6 of those years was their championship window. With the exception of elite QBs and franchises, most NFL teams do not get a 6 year window.

An example would be the Eagles. After winning the Super Bowl and going 13-3, they've gone 9-7, 9-7, and 4-11.
Same story for the Falcons. After losing in their infamous Super Bowl and going 11-5, they've gone 10-6, 7-9, 7-9, and 4-12.

Rodgers on the 49ers would give us the best chance at winning a Super Bowl. That's the goal every year, no time to rebuild.

The current NFL formula for success unless you have Tom Brady is to nab a top tier quarterback and win with him in the first 4-5 years before you have to pay him a mega contract.

You are right that Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers. A 37 year old guy with one superbowl appearance in 16 seasons despite playing 15 of those in the conference that Tom Brady is not in.

Tomorrow starts the glorious countdown until Jimmy Average gets replaced by Trey Lance.

I think the Niners are hoping they get a team to pay the “Sam Bradford Tax” for Jimmy when their starter gets unfortunately hurt.
