Tomorrow starts the glorious countdown until Jimmy Average gets replaced by Trey Lance.

I think the Niners are hoping they get a team to pay the “Sam Bradford Tax” for Jimmy when their starter gets unfortunately hurt.
Most likely you will land the already established Jimmy G tax of a high second rounder that becomes a mid-second rounder after he wins 4 games to close their season.

Since I expect the Pats to be mediocre this season I am looking forward to possible trainwrecks in Houston and Green Bay most of all this year. With any luck the Steelers will suck too. Apologies to fans of those teams, sorry, not sorry.

Oh please don't get me excited about a Jets QB busting before 5 weeks into the season or a butt fumble or a game losing pick 6 to the Pats.

While on the important subject of injuries,
I hope Shanahan is explaining to Lance that he is not a RB.....one thing from his collegiate highlights was his apparent willfulness in taking on tackles physically - that might work at North Dakota St, but dollars to donuts he'll sustain an injury (perhaps major) in the NFL if that's not coached out early. LBs will mostly be bigger and as fast as him.
