News from the NBA BOG meeting - April 2012

It all comes down to the maloofs have the right to kill this deal and they are exercising that right. We knew Stern could not force the maloofs to sell.

Magoofs just have their dumb*** Anaheim pipedream, that the other owners arnt going to allow anyways.

Sucks that our team is in the hands of broke morons. Really, really sucks.

So i already have tickets for sundays game (free, of course) and theyre supposed to be pretty close to court side im told. So what can i put on a sign that could maybe make an impact w/out going overboard?

should it Maloof bash? say "sell the team or honor your commitments" or something?

or should i say something about how Arco needs to be retired and its time for a new stadium?

i cant believe this is happening...conniving sons of B******. Id like the league to look into the Maloofs finances and see if they even have enough money to pay for this S*** b/c i have a feeling they cant even afford a new arena.

I'm not going to respond to the Maloof presentation unless you push me a little more.

Awesome.

If you read between the lines his anger is focused directly at the Maloofs. Hell, the NBA was going to basically loan the Maloofs their entire $73 million contribution.

Yeah, I'm getting that. He's trying to be political about it, which is no surprise given he technically is an employee of the owners, and therefor the Maloofs.

But jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze this sucks. I hope Burkle is watching and preparing an offer.

In essence it seems like the NBA will own the Kings yet the name "Kings" will be tacked to the name of the franchise. I actually thought the NBA would finance the Kings portions (as the Maloofs are broke) and in essence own the team. The Maloofs would keep their tickets and be labeled as the owners.

Now I know I'm confused but this is what I thought would happen several weeks ago. Tell me I'm wrong because I like this.

"Burkle or Bust"

Judging from Stern's words, he's not going to let the Maloofs move them while he's a round.

"Some of my best friends are anti-trust attorneys."

I hope that is a warning to the Maloofs.

So the Maloofs would not have to front anything out of pocket. And they still turned down the deal. That tells me they are trying to use the team to make money which is the absolute worst thing owners can do. That is why they want to move to a bigger market and can't stay in Sac. Explains so much about every decision we have seen for the last 6 years on and off the court. The Maloofs must be upside down the with the debt they are carrying. They can't even afford to sell the team because they will lose money. If they can't move the team, they may have to declare bankruptcy.

Some of you may think I am crazy, but...

I think the NBA should do with the SACRAMENTO Kings what they did with the New Orleans Hornets. Take control of the team and in the meantime, find new ownership who will be committed to keeping the Kings in SACRAMENTO, because they ARE the SACRAMENTO Kings!!!!
