I don't know. I'm not getting that tinglely feeling all over thinking about it. I'm not a fan of Curry's. But he would give us a backup center. I question whether he's one of those guys that a change of scenery will help, since he's already had a change of scenery. I'm also not a big fan of Nate. He can be exciting, but he always gives me the impression that its all about him. I could be misjudging him, but I think I'll pass.

For me Cisco is the best player in this group. Then its a toss up between Nate & Beno. Curry is not a guy I would want on this young Kings team. So I'm out.

The only players on the Knicks that the Kings should have interest in are Danilo Galinari and Darko Milicic. They would give us young back-up bigs who can score down low and provide servicable defense. The Kings should laugh off knick offers that involve anyone else unless draft picks are also included (which the Knicks don't have in 2010).

something like this could go down... Walsh and Petrie almost made a deal last trade deadline...
that trade thank god didn't go down cause it would have really helped the Knicks...
but good news for us is that Petrie should be in a much better position to get "more" outa trading KT's contract this time round...
Jeffries is going to be apart of the deal... but we should be able to dump Beno and add first round picks... Hill+next years 1st rounder

I would do the Curry for Udrih part, even with the question marks surrounding Curry. I would rather have all that cash at least bringing in something we need, which is a guy to play backup C minutes. Udrih is playing the same position as two younger guys we just drafted/acquired that need to see the court.
Obviously they would have to do their due diligence on making sure he has his head right and that he is dedicated to basketball.
I think Nate Rob is valuable, but just not a good fit for the team. We have two offensive-oriented guards now in Martin and Evans (though Evans obviously can defend too), and we have Garcia who can play some 2 minutes as well. We don't really need to pay a chunk of cash for an offensive spark plug to come off the bench.

My main goals on this proposal were:
1. Get rid of Beno's long term deal, so even if Nate were signed to a 1 or 2 year deal, it is better than Beno's.
2. Get a resonable backup Center.
I think what is really hard about this is we have no idea how Beno will perform this season. Maybe he will bring it, maybe he won't. Last year's coaching situation kind of set the tone.. and maybe Beno just followed along. There is the potential that he will get more focused with increased competition for minutes and a better coached and hopefully more focused team.

Not under any realm of possibilities. Beno and Cisco are career midlevel max players. NYK can get them any time. Why would they take on these 4 year contracts?
Continuing on the contracts, NYK is the most often cited as the one looking to continually dump contracts for the next offseason. How does picking up 10 million that runs through the next offseason (and many others) help the Knicks? They wont even sign David Lee for that money, but theyre going to go ahead and grab 2 guys that won't even start for next year, and have contracts that run past the year of Lebron?

New York isnt going to make any move that could jeopardize them signing Lebron James. This means they wont take on longer contracts for the players they receive through trades than the players they send away.

How is that not tampering at this point. Everyone is reporting that as their "official strategy". Doesn't the league need to step in to quell those reports. In any other city, that would be considered tampering

I think in the legal sense its only tampering if you actually approach said player about signing with your team while he's still under contract with another team. But to say your dumping contracts with the intent to be far enough under the cap to make a big splash in the freeagent market in 2010 that includes James, Wade, etc. is an entirely different thing.

Cleveland can offer him more money and a longer contract, under current CBA rules, than any other team. Doesn't mean he won't go to NY, but Cleveland can offer him more, unless the new CBA, due next summer, changes that. I would think the new CBA would still protect teams this way, to give them a fighting chance to retain their best players.
