ok i realize that i ask for some confrontation... thats fine totally down with that... i have strong opinions and i don't have any problem with sharing them... as far as i know this is a forum. I'm not being overly sensitive because more than half of the trash talk i don't respond to.

However the whole "getting personal" thing is getting old. and the frequency is now out of hand.

One of the things i enjoy about this forum is that the language is clean and unlike the lakers or other teams forums this one has a sense of community. also this put down banter and in-house fighting is usually kept a min.

however what the hell is everyones problem! as far as i know it started over me disliking Spencer Hawes while he was a member of the Kings! SPENCER FREAKING HAWES!!! everyone LOVED him so much. i was hated on for disliking him so strongly... wow... well pretty sure I WON THAT ONE.... he was trash... and he a douche bag for waiting till a contract year to finally try. typical ....

now i write one thread about how Jimmer is awful... "cough cough" ... and everyone loses their minds... true i should have thought about the fact most everyone on this board has JIMMER FEVER!!!!! but guys he's not looking good and thats a fact... once again heres my original post

I really hope he's not this awful and can improve but other than outlaw he's the worst player on our team... its also obvious he lacks any natural PG abilitys, and will be a serious serious project as a pg... maybe he can be like eddie house? Or jj redick? He looks that bad.

i didn't say "anyone that likes jimmer is stupid and jimmer is dumb"... what exactly was said that isn't true .... soooo far... ???.....or was SOOOO OFFENSIVE to everyone??? once again i didn't say he's gonna be the worst player forever...

anyway all these fanatic Jimmer fans have gone over the line with the hate as well as some of you forum vets, and it needs to be curbed...

dont agree with what i say? great!!! you can ignore it...eh eh? tell me about how great Jimmer is and why he's the MVP so far and why I'm wrong... GREAT!!!

When you make those kind of statements on this forum you have to know you're courting controversy. People shouldn't take the bait, but a post like that is going to get a strong reaction. I find it hard to believe that getting that reaction wasn't your intent.

The getting offended over other folk's opinions thing is so grade school. Sometimes I wonder if everyone online isn't secretly ten years old. On another note, anyone wanna bet on how long it takes for a mod to lock this puppy up?

Anyways, bro, if you wanna know why you got attacked its because your 'assessment' of Jimmer was way off base, and seriously after 7-8 games you basically came on here and trashed the dude. A rookie, when all rookies have problems in the NBA, you came on here like he was a veteran and just blasted him. It was how you went about it. You went off (and are still obviously going off) the deep end with your OP about Jimmer. How abouts an example:

Instead of :'He looks like a middle schooler playing against adults. Even his best has been woeful. Im not gonna get excited about anything he's done. He's been completely unimpressive he makes Quincy douby look good. Beno looks like a shut down defender compared to him. Jimmer looks lost every single second.'

How about: 'Man, Jimmer is having some serious trouble getting his game to translate to the NBA! He has been making a very bad habit of jumping in the air before he knows what he is going to do. He is also having a problem knowing where people are going to be at times on the court. I'll admit, he has done a decent job at times of getting in the lane and finding open shooters, but sometimes he just looks lost out there. Am I the only one who has noticed it? How many games do you think it will take him to figure some of these things out? I had high hopes for him but man, I didn't expect him to get off to this rocky of a start.'

You see the difference? One opens yourself up for attack by being exceptionally over the top and unrealistic, and the other opens your point up for a good discussion.

Do you need your binky?

its basketball dude! are you seriously telling me you've never said anything to a friend or co-worker anything like what i said ... or are you PC all the time about beyond struggling basketball players??? i doubt everyone here has NEVER at any time said something similar to what i did... either as a comment or as a thread topic... if you think your perfect and PC at every moment about your Kings step up...

Be careful my brother. Moderators here do a wonderful job..but are way too sensitive and trigger happy. Many of them are quick to shut you down if your post is even the slightest bit controversial or just something they disagree with. I've been banned for years and could only read the forum for a looooong time.

I'ts best to not fight them. Yep, just like the cops in real life. Fight back and they'll slap your a** in jail for half your life lol

It's easiest to just bend over backwards and take it like a man LOL

The difference is obvious. The flipside of your point though, is this. Rather than flip out, get irate, etc. at the way the OP trashed Jimmer, why not say something like this instead?

“Wow, you must be watching a different player than me. Sure Jimmer hasn’t been spectacular but he’s made some nice plays. I think he’ll be fine once he adjusts to the NBA pace."

It works both ways. Just because an OP is “combative” doesn’t mean you have to take the bait and engage them.

The cops is a great analogy because even if you're in the right, it doesn't matter! They're still going to win so you might as well just let them have their power trip and hope they leave you alone because if you pee them off too much, you'll end up with an IP ban...I mean in jail.

I wasn't offended by what you said. My point was that you have to know that with a post like that is going to offend people. Then to come back play the victim after you got the reaction you should of expected, and probably wanted, is disingenuous.

The thing is no Player is trash and no player is the end all be all able to go 1 on 9 and shoot 75% on full court shots. All players are somewhere in the middle. Communication is a funny thing. You can say the same thing in 2 different ways and get either a strong kneejerk reaction or reasoned discussion. Its on the person reading and responding but its also on each of us that post.

I don't generally agree with a lot of your opinions, but I do agree with this.

i like that back and forth of opinions even some trash talk... but this jimmer thing has taken it to a level thats just annoying... theres talking basketball and theres name calling and personal attacks...

i am opinionated at my basketball views and i just say what i feeling.... you wanna tell me I'm wrong and make some sort of case against it ... by all means ... say it the same way i do... or however you want....

thats fine... but keep it about the topic and basketball....

I wasn't in the group that attacked you, I try and refrain from that kind of reaction as much as possible. Your Jimmer assessment was pretty wonky though so it doesn't at all surprise me that it drew that kind of reaction. The odd part is how you'd single out the rookie when almost everyone on the whole team was playing like crap. It would make a lot more sense if you went after Outlaw, Salmons, Tyreke before he came out of his funk, Garcia, Donte, etc. A lot of people would have probably related to bashing those guys but when it's the rookie who's played like 8 games in his NBA career, people were just like, WTF? Give the dude a chance to get accustomed to the league before you roast him.

rookie or not he's playing bad... IT blew it up last night... the last pick in the draft.... Jimmer has some serious hype to live up to and i hope eventually he does.... but just calling it for what it is right now or mentioning the fact that ITS POSSIBLE he busts.... ? who knows? i didn't say he would...

but thats gonna trigger all these people to be soooo offended to not even talk basketball anymore?

Alright enough.

I am keeping this thread open for the sole reason that I am hereby hijacking it. This thread is now the Official Kumbaya Thread where we will all share our peace, love, and brother/sisterhood with each other. Singing along to Kumbaya is a mandatory part of any further participation. So turn to you fellow posters give them a cyberhug and tell them you love them, because we aren't going to have anymore of this fussing and figting my friends.
