how many games will the kings win this year? after watching our 1st 7 games. here are the facts

1. kevin is 3rd in scoring
2. salmons is looking like a candidate for most improved player
3. garcia and salmons both can actually make shots now. i mean, its amazing. after watching brick after brick last year its good to see nothing but splashes this year. kings couldve been 3-4 instead of 2-5 (cavs loss). this is without bibby and artest playing.
4. spencer (within 10 minutes) has already proved to be better than thomas and moore. this guy is gona be a double digit scorer.

im betting we make the playoffs

keep in mind dallas went 0-4 to start the season last year.

We have faced legitimate contenders twice...and pretty much been run off the court. If Gregg Popovich hadn't been in a charitable mood, we could easily have lost by 50+... This poll is delusional...

VF21, you have to consider that it was the start of the season. facing the leagues best right off the bat. garcia and salmons were thrown into the starting lineup. they werent ready. no artest. no bibby. i think we're gona get better every game. last night was a disaster. pick and roll after pick and roll. and we did nothing to adjust. that game was all carlos boozer. ron artest couldve shut him down. it made me SICK

We may get better but we are NOT a contending team. I like Reggie and want to be as supportive as possible but this current roster is not gonna be playing past mid-April. We have a myriad of problems that cannot possibly be solved in a mere 76 games.

The offense is already deteriorating into more one-on-one than anything else. Ron Artest will not make that different. He tends to take over when he thinks he might be able to turn the game around.

The frontcourt is, in a word, inept. And that's not going to change with Hawes getting more minutes. He's a rookie. He's not going to put this team on his back and carry them to the playoffs.

I love this team but I'm not going to kid myself - or anyone else. We still have a long way to go before we deserve to be playing in May, let alone June.

dont have so little faith. tim duncan came in as a rookie and helped turn the spurs around. gave them a winning record in 97-98. winning the championship less than 2 years later. im not comparing duncan to hawes, but all men are made the same. if 1 man can accomplish something every man has the capability to do the same thing. no one has the right to say there will never be another jordan or woods or tom brady. im just saying spencer looks like a very talented player. im excited.

I love your enthusiasm. I simply do not share it - and I've loved this team since 1985. The difference, I suspect, might be that I can live with another year of lowered expectations. I'm excited for the individual players as they start their NBA careers; I'm excited about Kevin Martin continuing to go further than many ever thought he'd go.

For me, a playoff slot isn't integral to my enjoyment of my beloved Kings.

:)

Here are some other facts:

1) we are 30th in the league (i.e. dead last) in assists, at 14.42. And it ain;t even close (#29 is at 17.0).

2) we are 27th in the league in margin (-9.14). A .500 team should be around even.

3) we are 30th in the league (i.e. dead last) in rebounding, at 35.42. We are however only 28th in the league in rebound margin.

4) With Brad, the Hoppin' Hick, Miller swatting everything his stubby little arms can reach, we are still tied for 28th/29th in the league in blocked shots.

5) We have beat two teams this season, both at home. The two teams we have beat are arguably the two worst teams in the NBA, with a combined 0-13 record so far.

6) We are 28th in the league in Opposing FG%. Teams are shooting .477 against us. Only Memphis and Golden State are worse.

7) We are 27th in Scoring Defense. Teams are averging 103.42 against us.

8) At this young point int he season, the math already works out like this: in order to reach that nutty 49 win number, we would have to go 47-28 from here on out. Thats a .627 win%, or basically a 51-52 win pace.

I was laughing at this post thinking you made it as a joke. Then I read your next posts and realized you were being serious. Now I just feel bad for you because you are going to be terribly dissappointed this season.

While I agree that Salmons and Garcia are both showing a good effort, you have to keep in mind:
1) Bibby is out till Jan
2) This team still has no on-court leadership
3) We do not have clutch players, esp w/no Bibby
4) We are going to get blown out a lot
5) When it is close, we are likely going to lose due to #2 and #3

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of games that we lose by just a few points. But that's still a loss.

I'm not even sure we're going to hit 30 games. But frankly, I'm okay with that. Winning isn't everything. As long as my team isn't getting blown out and they put up a good fight, I'm going to have a good time watching regardless of whether we ultimately win or lose.

With all due respect, Tim Duncan was the #1 pick and way much more ahead of Hawes when he came to the league. Duncan also a center who was known as the Admiral. He was pretty good too. They also had a very good shooter in Sean Elliot. The enthusiasm is touching but there's also such thing as reality.

I'm dumbfounded. Perhaps you'd enjoy watching your friends play on an amateur team in a beer league just as much. You really don't care if the Kings make the playoffs? Where's your competitive spirit?

What's it to you how I enjoy my favorite team?

I can enjoy the team even when I know full well they're not going to make it to the playoffs.

As far as you being dumb-founded, it appears you're half-right.

Biting gallows humor abound I see!? Very entertaining.:)

My "new prediction" will not last, I did not expect the chemistry eating monster to come along and pull the cork out of the bottom of our dhingy.

Maybe 28 wins this year. That's all I hope for.
