Do veterans like himself get what is going on? Do they understand why the Nets have been deconstructed? Yes, Devin Harris said, he does. But then he said that the Nets still need to find a way to win some games now, rather than wait for a hero to arrive next season. "The plan is what it is," he said. "We're obviously moving forward with it and looking forward to the summer as far as the draft picks and free agency. But I think we can still can help ourselves by stringing some games together where we play well and end the season on a good note. I think that's the main focus, more important that the transactions that we're doing." NY Daily News Blog

Interim coach/GM Kiki Vandeweghe and team president Rod Thorn are expected to make more changes, which could include trading Josh Boone, Bobby Simmons and Tony Battie. Harris himself could be shipped out, as could Yi, if the Nets get a good deal for them. It's all about putting themselves in the best position to sign major free agents over the summer. Only Brook Lopez is an untouchable, as far as we know. NY Daily News Blog

"I think we've been dealing with tough things all year long," Harris said. "I think they understand the business and the nature of it. I think they still come in every day working hard and that's what you have to do in this business. Nothing is guaranteed; we know that coming into the situation. We're in an awkward situation. Obviously we're trying to create as much cap space as we can for next year but we're still trying to be competitive and end the year on a good note. So it's a little bit of a catch-22. But I think guys are coping with it just fine." NY Daily News Blog

So even though they dont want to give up Lopez what if...

Lopez for Hawes and unprotected 1st Rndr

Lopez and JT in the front is what the Kings need

Get YI is possible, he can play off the bench and is a good young player.

NJ is a mess. That entire roster is built to disappear within a year. How can they even call themselves a professional basketball organization? They have no identity, and they have nothing to attract Lebron to them. I can't think of a single realistic thing to do that would be worth looking at for both teams.

I would pay any price they ask for Lopez except Tyreke or Omri. Kevin, JT, Francisco, Spencer, picks.... you name it.

Not interested in anything else they have though.

They aren't trading Lopez guys. They just aren't.

Now you can probably pick through the rest of that scrapheap as much as you want.

I would be willing to part with Omri. A good seven footer is much harder to find than a swingman, especially when your GM seems to specialize in swings.

kevin martin
sergio rodriguez
1st rounder (top 12 protected) and a future (conditional first rounder)

for

Bobby simmons
Brook lopez

knicks might bite....

gallo for omri trade?

jewish community there would love it.. we get size shooting and potential swingman

We would not be able to get brook but i liked Terrence Williams in the draft and still do would not mind getting him if we did not give up to much.

We don't-I repeat- DON'T need another swingman. We've already got six of them (Martin, Garcia, Casspi, Greene, Udoka, Nocioni) thank you very much. If we did trade for him we'd better have given up two of our swings in exchange (Nocioni, I'm looking at you)

If I get my way we will not have Martin, Garcia, Udoka, and Nocioni next year and then we will have plenty of room for terrence lol.

Here's how I look at, take a salary player off they're hands

Nets
Hassel
Lopez
Battie
2nd rnd

Kings
Martin
Hawes
Rodriguez
1st rnd

The Kings get 2 players with expiring contracts and Lopez while the Nets get a 25pnt scorer and a young Center in Hawes and Rodriguez isn't to shabby either. The draft pick is just for extra seasoning for the deal so the Nets bight. No player next season will be coming out of that draft like a Lopez.

Will it happen, no but it's a dream that I wont let die, ha!
