I have been thinking about this and I am having a major problem with it.
GP gets traded and refuses to show up only to get waived and go back to his old team. Does any of this sound kind of fishy to you guys? What impact can this have on the NBA? ZO did the same thing to go where he wanted to go.
I think it could have a big impact as more teams may be reluctant to trade during the season. Why would a team trade with Boston now? I almost have a feeling this was all planned out from the start. At least on the surface it seems that way.
Why did the Hawks release Peyton anyway? Why didn't they fine and suspend him for everyday that he refused to show. Instead they waived him? That makes no sense.
This sets a bad precedence in the NBA and I think Dstern should worry about this issue more then a min age a player has to be. This has the ability to get out of control if it’s not stopped. Each year it gets worse and worse. More players each year are demanding trades and now there is this joke of a waiver system/trade deadline.
