Free throws were the difference in the final score in Denver tonight.

Denver attempted 20 free throws making 16 and Miami attempted 2 making 2. 2 free throws is some kind of record for fewest in a NBA Playoff game. That free throw disparity in a game decided by 11 points is significant.

Strus missed so many wide open shots. Bam can get that mid range shot anytime he wants. Miami won't go away easily, it's a matter of them making open shots like they have been up to this point

Thats the whole plan imo give Bam 25+ shots and mid rangers while slowing everyone else,, the Heat won't win if Bam has the most shots taken/made.

That may have been the plan, but as 'boi noted, lots of open misses - sans defense. Nuggets started to oblige a comeback in the 4th, by missing about 4 or 5 in a row, but the margin was too much. Heat were terrible on screens earlier in the game that helped the Nuggets build a lead. They improved some in the 2nd half. The game reminded me of the Kings game 3 against the Warriors.....team did not match hosts energy quickly into the game.

I'm reading Love was not injured - that's a big failure on Spoelstra if true....Love is a savvy player, and would've helped on defense and offense....he's better than Zeller who's a younger version of Koufas and an offensive handicap on the floor.

The Heat beat the Bucks with Butler going bonkers a couple games....he can't have ho-hum games against the Nuggets like game 1 unless his compadres shoot a good clip, not 3-23. That was like "D" grade offensive game for the Heat, and "C+" for defense, While the Nuggets were about "B+" on both offense and defense.

See how Butler plays next game....didn't see the Nuggets doubling him too much.

He's gonna win the national championship his freshman year in college and then the next season as a Rookie in the NBA he's gonna win the finals.

how bout that start to a pro career sheesh..
 
 
can we really call Jokic the "best" player in the league when Embiid, Giannis and a healthy Davis are all in the same tier?
 
Every game in the finals huge, even if down 0-3 since have to get 4 wins to take the series (obviously). But this one in Denver seems exceptionally big as Miami cannot go down 0-2 and then try to win 4 games against Jokic led Denver. I think winner tonight's game destined to take NBA title and if Jimmy Butler wills the win at Denver 5,280 feet elevation, then he's THE MAN. Love will start. Heat going bigger to match up defensively. It will be interesting to see how Nuggets guard Bam, Love, Jimmy. MPJ on Jimmy, or MPJ on Love if he is standimg outside the 3 point line?
 
Nice to see Strus pick up the pieces from last game......Heat look more competitive this game. Their bench need to do better the 2nd half.

Possibly.

He outplayed Davis in the conference finals. Davis had - perpetual “WTF” look on his face when dealing with Jokic. if Davis wasn’t healthy this time around then healthy Davis is simply a myth anyway

Embiid meanwhile has never been past the second round and was pretty meh against Boston as Philly went as James Harden did. I also don’t know if Embiid makes his teammates better as Jokic does. If failing in the WCF dogged Jokic, then not even making the conference finals should haunt Embiid.

I personally like Giannis overall but the absolute best is subjective and likely depends on who is individually having the best year. Nobody was better this season than Jokic and it’s likely he’ll finish on top.
 
Bam will spend like five minutes looking like Dwight Howard (MVP) and then spend the next five minutes looking like Dwight Howard (Washington Wizard)
 
Wild that a Zeller brother is playing big minutes in an NBA finals series in the year of our lord 2023. The Plumlee family must be sick to its stomach.

Pat Riley suddenly looking smart for giving Tyler Herro that massive contract last summer. Heat are absolutely helpless on offense the 75% of the time Jimmy Butler isn't cooking.
 
Heat really need to figure out what to do in the minutes Bam isn't playing. Zeller is getting absolutely destroyed by Joker every single possession he's in. I dunno if Haslem has anything left in the tank at this point but it's hard to say he could do any worse out there.

Yeah, Butler is having another so-so game.......they're gonna need some of the other players to step up.
 
Nuggets bench playing like the Nuggets bench this half as opposed to in the first half when they played like the 2018 Warriors.
