Nba League Pass Free Preview Starts Tomorrow (25-30)

From January 25th to the 30th......

EDIT: I've corrected the date. Apparently there was an error on nba.com and the free preview starts on Jan. 25 and NOT Jan. 24 as was originally posted.

Regarding the whole NBA TV scam whereby you can pay for League Pass but still miss big games if your cable provider doesn't offer it or if you choose not to buy it.....I wonder if they take some of the biggest games during the free preview and put them only on NBA TV so that you learn that you will in fact miss games that you thought you had paid for.

I have the League Pass and I highly encourage anyone who can to take advantage of the free preview. And, watch for the day when the price comes down for the 2nd part of the season.

Bartking, can you be specific about games you could not watch. I have watched every Kings game and other games I wanted to see this year. What gives?

Thanks for that. This is my first time in 3 years w/out ordering LP so I'll enjoy the upcoming week. :)

definetly agree...i got my LP in the second half on the season when the price was $99 dollars...take advantage...you'll love it...as for the games...you get all the games except for your local area blackouts...for example if you are from Philly you'll never see any Sixers games on LP...im from CT and i don't see any Celts games...not that i care...but that one game we played against them awhile back was the only kings game i didn't get to see...and when the kings go to boston...ill be there in the flesh so im set

Seems like whenever there is a free preview, kings games are nationally televised during the free preview ughghg...

what channel is this on? I have dish network. Can anybody tell me? That will be great.

I have DishNetwork. NBATV is on ch 560. Then the LP channels go from ch 561 through ch 571.

I just tried to get it on my DishNetwork and it says it's a subscription service that costs $109. (The new, lower half-year rate.)

GoSACTown, where did you get the info?

EDIT: Sorry, GoSACTown. Your info is legit. It's just that DishNetwork apparently didn't get the memo.

Same thing happened to me.

I subscribe to LP, so I don't need the free preview. Right now 8:15 PT, Dallas @ Clippers is on Ch 566 and San Antonio @ Portland is on Ch 565.

The problem is that DishNetwork hasn't updated the smart cards in our receivers apparently.

We can see the listings but if we try to select the game, we get the message I've referred to. I'm rebooting my receiver to see if it works. I'll let you know if I have any success, Bballkingsrock.

I still get the message that says it's a Dish On Demand program, available for purchase for $109.

I'm not even going to bother trying to call DishNetwork customer service. Last time I did, I ended up getting League Pass billed on my account when I didn't order LP, didn't have access to LP, etc. The people answering those phone lines are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Apparently, DishNetwork didn't get the memo or something. While nba.com does say this is supposed to be a free preview week on DishNetwork and DirecTV, we're getting the same message we always get if, as non-LP subscribers, we try and access one of the channels.

Like I said, though, I'm not going to bother calling them. Last time it took me 6 phone calls to straighten out the problems from the error they made on my first call.

:D

A couple of years ago, I got LP and of course I enjoyed watching the Kings. Then they introduced NBA TV which my cable provider didn't have. They took some games that would normally be on LP and put them on NBA TV only. I missed Kings-Spurs, Kings-Pacers and a couple more. It was about a two games a month.

I wrote them and asked what's up with that and they very helpfully said that I should contact my cable provider and tell them that they should carry NBA TV.
