T’wolves trade Sessions to Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached agreement on a trade that sends Delonte West(notes) and Sebastian Telfair(notes) to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Ramon Sessions(notes) and Ryan Hollins(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Timberwolves are expected to waive West, who has only $500,000 of his $4.7 million salary guaranteed next season. The Cavs also will get a second-round pick in the trade.

Telfair, who previously played for the Timberwolves, could eventually be moved again. The Timberwolves signed Sessions to a four-year, $16 million contract a year ago, and the Cavs can use him at shooting guard. The Cavs lost center Zydrunas Ilgauskas(notes) in free agency and aren’t expected to re-sign Shaquille O’Neal(notes), so Hollins can help their frontline.

This is the Cavs’ first significant transaction since losing LeBron James(notes) to the Miami Heat in free agency.

Bosh: 'I Have Seven Years to Make Up For'

This, now, finally, is exactly where (Chris) Bosh wants to be.

"I have seven years to make up for," Bosh said, sitting inside the gym where children can't help but stop him and ask him questions that generally revolve around one of two topics, his hairstyle switch from short dreadlocks to buzz cut, or his decision to team with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade for the Miami Heat.

"You happy that you're playing with LeBron now?" one camper asked.

"Of course," Bosh replied. "You make decisions because you want to be happy."

"It just seemed nothing ever worked out in Toronto. And that's no offense to them or the organization. It just never happened.

"I hate losing probably more than anybody in the world. But it's just been my fate so far."

1st he was complaining that he wanted to be the center of the team and now he's complaining that he wasted his years in Toronto. Which one is it? He was the center over there. I guess he realised that he can't be the number 1 option. Don't complain...I get that he didn't have the best talent over there but no need to seem so unsatisfied. What happened to the days where players were just happy to be drafted?

I loved it when Scot Pollard was on KHTK the other day and was asked about Miami. He said he thought that they were not the best team in the East as of right now, and call Bosh a loser. He said it might be harsh, but that Bosh has always been a loser throughout his career (can't remember the exact wording).
 
So the Cavs now have Williams AND Sessions? How is that gonna work? What's up with them going after guys who flourished in Milwaukee? Maybe they'll sign Glenn Robinson next :p
 
^^Yeah I have to agree with that. N it's not like 2 players on either team were in the top 3 in the whole NBA like Wade and LeBron are. N if so (Abdul-Jabbar and Magic is as close as that argument will get, although Abdul-Jabbar was on the downswing of his career), teams actually had to give up something to acquire those pieces. They didn't huddle together and all join at once

thats right they werent top 3 in the nba at the moment, bird and magic only had 2 players that are top 50 of all time in the nba each. and jordan only had another top 50 in pippen and dennis rodman. his point isnt that it was ok how miami got together, it was about how these nba greats are coming down on them "needing" each other when they in fact had just as much help. his point was to win a championship, no one can do it by themselves. they need help, and why would you turn down the chance of that help being more great players? many of you might not like "how" miami formed, but if the question is "why" just think about your own jobs. would you want to work with well qualified co-workers, or carry the load every day?

But LeBron had a chance to be in the discussion for GOAT. Now that he has Wade to lead him to a title, Jordan's legacy is safe. And no, I don't think Kobe is better than Jordan.

And for the record, I don't think there's anything actually "wrong" with how they formed. My biggest issue with the whole thing (other than the possible domino effect it may have) is how LeBron did it on national television. He lost any respect I had for him that night

i feel exactly the same way

and in response to the first point, what if lebron never won a title with the cavs. then he would never be in the discussion for GOAT. it was pretty much a lose, lose situation whether he stayed or left. some might argue chicago was another option, but why go somewhere that has less of a chance at winning a title. maybe lebron thinks that the whole point of playing in the nba is to win championships, not be GOAT. everyone has their own opinion of him and his ego, but dont know for sure.

To me it's not really an issue if he would never lead Cleveland to a championship. It's the desire to want to be the best and beat the best, instead of joining the best.

Now I realize that part of the blame goes to the Cavaliers front office, too. It's not LeBron's fault that they didn't give him the right supporting cast. And even though there was a chance that Wade could have left Miami, the Heat did it the right way. Wade won't receive any criticism over this whole thing (nor should he) since he stayed with his original team.

And as for the last sentence there, maybe that's true. But I can't possibly understand why somebody wouldn't put forth an effort to be the GOAT if it's possible that you can be. You have to be pretty damn good to even be mentioned in the same sentence as the Jordan's and the Magic's. LeBron just doesn't have the heart to be that great IMO. Kobe does, I just don't think he's as good as MJ was. Although he's probably the closest we'll see for a while. That is until Tyreke takes over the league :D
